“I would not recommend this place at all, I have never left a review like this. I went in there with an approved loan through my bank that I told the salesperson I wanted to stay with. She asked me if I was open to hearing my rate through others & I said no, I want to stay with my bank. She said no problem, we go through them already. We negotiated back & forth, like normal & made a deal I was happy with. Well I took the car home & went back the next day to finalize the financing paperwork. Little did I know they went behind my back & went with another lender, not my bank, & never told me. Which means they more than likely had my credit pulled, & who knows maybe even more than just with that other bank too. Seemed like they were hoping I wouldn’t notice, & boy did they act like I was being dramatic when I told them I was upset. Gas lighting me like crazy, the senior salesman says “I get people like you in here all the time, acting like you know more about selling cars than me.” I immediately backed out of the deal, after speaking with people in the car world. They all told me to go to Jared price, i believe, & the young’s at corporate to see their thoughts on all this. I’ll just leave this here for now, hopefully to help someone else.”

“Go buy a car from Garrett!!!!! Incredible experience, my daughter was a first time car buyer and was having trouble getting approved but Garrett got it done and didn’t try to take advantage of her situation. Very honest guy!!!!!! You can trust a man who doesn’t wear nail polish. Thank you GARRETT!!!”

“1 STAR – ABSOLUTELY DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL This place is a nightmare, and I regret ever bringing my car here. I initially went to this body shop on December 2nd just to get a quote. They took photos of the body damage and then told me I had engine damage that “had to be sent to their mechanic.” I was told that was necessary to move forward, so I dropped my car off on December 5th. From that point on, communication was almost nonexistent. They sent me a body estimate and repeatedly told me they were “waiting on the mechanic.” My insurance adjuster didn’t even inspect the car until December 9th, yet Allstate issued a payment that same day — a payment I never signed for, never authorized, and never agreed could be cashed. Weeks went by with no updates. On December 15th, they again claimed they were still waiting on their mechanic. Then I heard nothing until December 29th. When I told them I wanted to move my car to another shop due to the ridiculous delays, I was suddenly told I couldn’t — because they had already cashed the insurance check without my authorization. At that point, I didn’t know better and felt trapped, so I reluctantly agreed to continue. Big mistake. They didn’t submit the mechanic’s estimate until January 5th, at which point they conveniently decided the engine issue “wasn’t related to the accident” — despite the fact that my engine had ZERO leaks before the accident. On January 8th, I demanded my check back and told them I would pick up my car on January 12th. I was told it would take two weeks to return the money. It is now January 28th, and I still do not have my check. To make matters worse, I contacted their corporate office and spoke to someone named Chris, who said he would “look into it.” Instead of helping, he falsely told the body shop that I approved the repairs — which I absolutely did NOT. The body shop then texted me claiming I had approved work and needed to bring my car back. That never happened. Let me be very clear: I never signed anything. I never authorized payment. I never approved repairs. This shop cashed a check without consent, stalled for over a month, withheld funds they have no right to, and then tried to cover themselves by falsely claiming I approved work. This is not just incompetence — this is unethical business behavior. If you value your time, your money, or your vehicle, stay far away from this place.”

“I’ve purchased my last 3 vehicles from Young Automotive, but this was my first experience with Young CJDR Layton and will be my last. To be transparent, the issues they could fix, have mostly been addressed. However, the fact that they happened in the first place is deeply concerning and I never want to put myself in this situation again. Sales Experience The purchase experience at the dealership was fine. The salesman was personable, we even had good conversation about shared past employment. He was even kind enough to let my 3 year old play with the trinkets on his desk. I will add, I probably spent a good 6-7 hours at the dealership. Post-Purchase Issues It wasn’t until I left the dealership that things started to pile up. Shortly after I left the dealership I noticed a missing part and few dents and scratches. It’s definitely not the end of the world that a $10 6x6 panel was missing or that there was a few little scratches but as this is a brand new vehicle, I feel it’s worth mentioning. They have “fixed” the damages and missing parts, which leads me into a little blurb about service. One of the scratches was on a spoiler, in which they decided to replace the whole thing. When I dropped off the car for the spoiler replacement they had it for about 6 hours and when I got it back, the spoiler looked identical and there was a new scuff I noticed on the paint. Even more concerning, the Jeep app showed the car was take to Harbor Freight twice, for reasons I can’t imagine (a test drive isn't necessary for a spoiler replacement). One trip they spent about an hour there and then they went back a while later. At this point, I chose not to pursue these additional concerns as I’m simply exhausted by everything. Trade-in Issues The most stressful part of this deal has been my trade-in. It took them almost two months (55 days) to pay off my trade. To make matters worse, despite me showing the accurate 10-day payoff directly from the lender’s website, they claimed over a month later that I “said” the payoff was $1,000 less and that I owed them the difference. This was very shocking and another stressful event of this deal. Regardless, since when does a dealership take the customer’s word on a payoff? Unless they lowered the payoff to make the deal work and just didn’t feel the need to say anything (which is shady, even for a dealership), I still don’t believe that the lower amount was worked into the numbers as I never said or heard any mention of the trade payoff amount they’re claiming. There was another issue with the paperwork that would have cost me money at the end my lease, which as a courtesy, I won't get into detail about. They ended up cutting a check to resolve that issue. I worked in auto finance for 6 years and have purchased more than 6 cars from dealerships, I’m not naive to how car deals work and the immoral things dealerships do everyday. I admit, I was definitely impulsive with this purchase and unwisely didn’t review all the documents and signed blank documents that “would be filled in later”, which I admit was very stupid. This deal was one of the most stressful things I’ve had to deal with in a long time and the experience has ultimately put a bad taste in my mouth with Young CDJR Layton. I love the Jeep brand and will certainly get another one in a couple years, I’ll have to look elsewhere.”
