“I purchased a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB 35 AMG from CarMax in Indianapolis in April 2025. At no point during the sale was I informed that the vehicle was equipped with summer-only performance tires, which are unsafe in cold temperatures and winter conditions—especially in Indiana. I only discovered this after nearly losing control of the vehicle in light snow. This is a serious safety issue that should have been clearly disclosed at the time of sale. After contacting CarMax Service, a representative (Victoria) scheduled an appointment to measure the tires for replacement. During that call, I specifically asked about cost and was explicitly told there would be no cost to me. The appointment was later canceled via voicemail, and CarMax reversed its position without explanation, stating that tire replacement was my responsibility. Customer Relations and corporate offices have since refused to address the failure to disclose, the safety risk, or the service department’s prior commitment. Instead, they have repeatedly upheld the denial without addressing these facts. This experience reflects poor transparency, inconsistent communication, and a lack of accountability for a legitimate safety concern. I would strongly caution buyers to ask very specific questions about tire type and vehicle safety equipment before purchasing from this location.”
