DO NOT BUY FROM CARMAX!!! They are Dishonest & Disingenuous! They have perfected the ART of the old "Used Car Salesman" & made it their MOTOS OPERANDI!!! THEY DO NOT DO PRE-INSPECTIONS OR FIX ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN OIL CHANGE!!! THEY THINK YOU'RE STUPID & ARE BANKING ON THE FACT THAT YOU WON'T THOROUGHLY LOOK OVER THE VEHICLE & FIND OUT WHATS WRONG FOR YOURSELF!!! I DIDNT EVEN MAKE IT TO THE TEST DRIVE BEFORE I HAD A LIST OF ITEMS FOR THEM TO FIX. THE KICKER WAS A HOLE IN THE EXHAUST UP NEAR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE MECHANICS REPORT/RECOMMENDATIONS (BECAUSE THERE IS NONE). When I presented the issues that I found on my walk around they simply took the keys back and said, "Ok". Never even the slightest bit of remorse. Didn't even offer to get a manager or offer another vehicle....why? Because their ENTIRE BUSINESS MODEL is BANKING on the fact that they are willing to play the NUMBERS GAME and just sit back & wait for someone who isn't so thorough and sell that vehicle to them with all of its issues. CARMAX is a trash company that DOES NOT put any emphasis on honesty, mechanical integrity, consumer relations.

I purchased a truck from CarMax in November of last year and I couldn’t be happier. My salesperson, Mariah, was absolutely fantastic. She kept me informed of all my options and communicated with me during and after the sale. I have since had my truck into their service department for routine maintenance and couldn’t be happier with the level of service and professionalism specifically from my service advisor, Eusebio. He is courteous, respectful, and a true professional. He goes above and beyond to schedule an appointment that accommodates my work schedule and keeps me updated on the maintenance progress. I also had a few minor issues that CarMax agreed to fix as part of the sale and Eusebio took care of these for me without hesitation. CarMax keeps their word and truly wants to make sure that you are happy with your purchase and experience. Nothing but great things to say about this place. I’m definitely a customer for life. Thank you CarMax. - TRK

I bought my car here and I love it. They (Nelly, the salesperson) promised me a second key. I just need to schedule it. Sounds easy enough! They (the service desk) scheduled me on 12/22 at 12:00 to get the second key. I show up at 11:45, they asked me to be 15 minutes early, to find out that Jeff the key vendor not there yet. I wait until 12:55 to ask for my key to leave to find out Jeff, the key vendor, is still at his previous location and will not be showing up until later. I leave for lunch and ask the service desk to call me when he arrives. Dom, my tech, who took my key, is nowhere to be found. My key is not there and we now have two more people looking for my key. Someone hands me someone else’s key. No one knows what’s going on. They eventually find my key, in a desk and I leave for lunch. I get back within 6 minutes of the call that Jeff, the key vendor, is on site. Dom, the service desk tech, promises me that I will be leaving with two keys. Twenty minutes later, Dom, the service desk tech, tells me the key I received when I purchased the vehicle no longer works, but I now have an official key that allows me to access the features of my car, like remote start and the rear fifth door to open remotely. So, here I am waiting to show up when Jeff, the key vendor, has my key in stock. Dom says “I’ll let you know when he has it in stock.” Monday the 29th rolls around and I hear nothing from Dom. I call the service desk and Josh has to do some digging to find out what is going on. I have been given no paper work, other than the first appointment, stating what I need. On 12/29, Josh schedules me at 2:00 on 1/5… It’s currently 2:30 on 1/5. Guess who IS NOT HERE. If you guessed Jeff the key vendor, or Dom, my service desk tech, you are correct. I’m wondering if I could say anything nice about this service center after this is all said and done. Josh was receptive of my frustration but I wonder if this is the same experience everyone has here at CarMax. Do not buy a vehicle here unless everything is already done. I almost got into a car that had its “windshield replaced and needs calibration.” I could only imagine the amount of trouble that would have put me through. Update: key was NOT made today as Jeff, the key Vendor, does not have it in stock. Again: why schedule someone for something where the time nor service provided don’t matter?
