“i dropped my 2019 Atlas off around 10am, George was my service guy. i called ahead of time as i was in the middle of working at an offsite and had to jump my car with cables as it wasnt starting.
i explained to George that the last 2 weeks or so I have been having several alternating warning lights saying the various assist systems were having errors, inclusion steering assist, abs,tpms,start/stop... sometimes 1 or 2 lights and sometimes all. regardless we did think the battery had something to do with it. George told me there would be a $165 charge for the system diagnostic. I said fine. That is the last I heard from anyone. I was picked up by my colleague leaving my car there around 1015am on 9/9.
later that afternoon, after not hearing any status, or getting a reply to my texts that i sent to George, I walked in behind him and asked the status of my car. He was frazzled and went off to find out. He had not done anything to my car and it had been there 7 hours. No diagnostic, no battery check, he didn't even know if he one in stock until then after 10 minutes he came and told me they have a battery and will replace it and get me on the road. it was close to closing time, and i waited another 45 minutes before he came with the invoice for $360ish which included the battery at retail, and the labor to install it. no diagnostic fee. So I pay, and go home. I am thinking it was the battery, which I don't even know was dead for sure... Anyway, think it is fixed? no... the next day and ever since i still have the various error lights coming on sometimes and resolving sometimes including my steering assist which you can really tell when that is not working.
So if they had taken some time and not had to rush at the end of the day, they may have done the diagnostic and figured out what was actually causing the issues, something in my computer system is bad or going bad.
i have made an appt at a non-dealer VW and European service specialist for tomorrow and will hopefully not have any issues after.
No thanks to Archer.”
