“Typically, shopping for a new vehicle is dreadful to me. The high-pressure salesmen. All the options I don’t need. Multi-year contracts with exorbitant interest payments… So I usually wait 15 - 20 years between visits to the car lots. That feeling changed this past weekend when I visited Woody Buick/GMC in Gurnee for my first new truck in 18 years. It started with a brief callback from Briana G. Who helped me with info about the truck I was interested in and set up an appointment to test drive and speak to a salesperson. She called me back immediately and confirmed our meeting with an email the same day. I met Sam Z. when I pulled up to the dealership. He offered me a cup of coffee and listened to me as I explained what I was looking for. He had the truck I liked warmed up and ready to test drive. We got in the Sierra 1500 and he went over all the new options this truck had to offer. The X31 Elevation package was decked out in a beautiful Downpour Blue, that I only saw at one other dealership in the area. (but for higher $$) The test drive was smooth. My first V8, 5.3l in over 30 yrs., with plenty of power and very responsive handling. The crew cab was immaculate & roomy enough for my 6-4 frame. They accepted my 18 yr. old Acadia as a trade in , and Matt V. went over all the contract details with me. What’s surprising is that I’m used to going in with one price in mind and leaving with paying much more than expected. Not this time. I chose a 3-year deal with 0% interest and saved thousands below sticker price with their discounts & rebates. They also offered a 6-yr full warranty, which I gladly accepted. Within 2hrs. from me pulling up, I had my test drive, signed the documents, they transferred my existing license plates and I was headed home in my new Sierra 1500 4WD.
