“Great dealership and service! Negotiations were not complicated and both parties came to an agreement fairly quickly. Working with Kellen & Aaron was great, both gentlemen were ready to do business. The transaction was seamless. Doing business at LaFontaine was worth the the hour and thirty minute drive. When I arrived at the dealership the paperwork was ready and I was out in 30 minutes with a new truck and my first Ford vehicle. Glad to be part of the new Ford family and loving my new toy.”

“I will say, the buying process was very smooth with Lafontaine. The salesman I worked with was patient and offered mechanical advice about the few trucks that I looked over at their dealership. I test-drove this truck 3 times before purchasing it. I first came to look at the truck the day after they purchased it, so it had not been cleaned or inspected yet, which was understandable. I drove the truck twice before their general vehicle servicing and only noticed some loose steering. I then waited until after they had serviced the vehicle and quickly test-drove it again to confirm they had repaired the steering issues, which they had. I was told they had a comprehensive inspection and service process which included checking over the vehicle for leaks or worn parts and changing the fluids (including the transmission fluid). I trusted their inspection to fix or turn up any problems but the truck seemed to be in good shape so I purchased it. I drive a fair amount, so over the next few weeks I drove over 2000 miles of unloaded highway and city driving. During that time I noticed the transmission having some jerky shifts and the vehicle shuddered at certain speeds. I decided to try swapping the transmission fluid but before doing so I checked the level with the dipstick and found the transmission was way overfilled with fluid (photo below). I took it to a mechanic to have them put the right amount of fluid in, but when they removed the transmission pan they found a substantial amount of metal in the fluid which indicated a failing torque converter (photo below). The transmission had to be removed and cleaned, cooling lines flushed, and torque converter replaced. This was all very unfortunate as I paid full value for a truck that didn't have any major issues and in the first three weeks of owning it I paid another $4000 to fix a major issue. For anyone looking to purchase a vehicle, I would recommend letting the dealer complete their inspection and service. Then I would take the vehicle to an independent shop to have a different mechanic look over it and inform you if there are any issues with it.”
