“I saw a car I was interested in. Paid to have it transferred. It arrives and I am contacted for an appointment. Show up to the appointment and they had nobody available to assist. No explanation other than we have a few in front of you. What is the purpose of an appointment I asked? Well, our appointments our more like visits to the doctor and we will help when we have someone. 20 minutes goes by. No manager willing to say hello or try to assist in any way. Staff sitting around eating and chatting with each other but not available to unlock a car etc. This is a glaring example of poor dealership management. No, I wasn’t apologized to on my way out. I asked for a refund for the transfer as they sure didn’t offer it. If you are in upper management and want more details, reach out. If not, I will assume this is normal operating procedure and I will continue to do business elsewhere. I had expected a much better experience. Disappointed in CarMax doesn’t scratch the surface of how I feel right now.”

“List of issues on car:
•Weak headlight brightness
•Terrible breaks (noisy)
•Poor heating (takes forever for vents to output heat)
•Worn out tires
•Chipped window (had temporary dent fillers, multiple dents exposed after a rainy day)
•Stereo system and Bluetooth doesn’t work
I might as well have just gotten a used car off the street market if I wanted a car to fix up.
I wanted a reliable car, not a project.
Took this car twice to get worked on for a couple issues I found it had during the first weeks into having bought it and the more I got to know this car and inspect it the more issues I realized it had. Wasn’t worth taking it to their in house mechanic since it’d take hours of wait time in their service department, only to go home and realize the car still had the issue I took it for present. Jeez. Never ever trusting Carmax ever again. Used to be good years ago, I’m extremely disappointed in them.”

“BUYER BEWARE. HIDDEN DAMAGE. They represented the car as no damage, clean history. Luckily we caught the overspray on the handles. It likely had significant damage to the driver side of the car. It also had damage to the passenger side turn light and surrounding fender that the sales manager said was "fine with her." It also had undocumented damage to the interior panels that they said they would not fix. They refused to have the vehicle inspected by a third party and only offered to have their "In house paint team" try and fix the bumper.”

“Walking into CarMax they were friendly from the start, let us walk around the lot & explore without all the pressure of a salesman following us around. We checked out a few vehicles & when we found the one we wanted to test drive we walked in to talk to a salesman, got the process done to do our test drive. Loved the vehicle & got started on the buying process, the whole thing from start to finish took about 2 hours! The paperwork was mostly digital & super easy! This is the third car I have personally bought from CarMax & I will most likely use them for future purchases!”

“This place is OK. The wife just bought a new Ford Explore this evening. She knew exactly what she wanted so she was satisfied. My self on the other hand, I enjoy haggling the car dealers and trying to getting them to come down on the price and this definitely ain’t the right place for that lol. They have a decent selection of used cars not very many trucks though. Over all experience we were satisfied.”
