“I had a great experience at Safford Mazda of Fairfax. Walter received me well and was incredibly professional throughout the process. When the car I originally came in for was sold to someone else, he didn't miss a beat—he showed me several great options and even found a perfect alternative that I ended up loving. One of the managers, Dom I believe, put us in a private room, at my request, because of our active and noisy toddler. Made waiting for the final process more convenient. I highly recommend going to Safford Mazda Fairfax for all your car shopping needs.”

“1-Star Review – Extremely Disappointing Experience After Traveling From Out of State to purchase used SUV. I had a very poor experience with Safford Mazda Fairfax in December. I negotiated an out‑the‑door price on a used Mazda CX‑90 and placed a $1,000 deposit to hold the vehicle while I arranged travel from Georgia. I was pre‑approved through my credit union, and all I needed was for the dealership to send a purchase order so my credit union could overnight a check. Before flying to Virginia, I asked my salesman if we could start the paperwork ahead of time to speed things up. He told me all I needed was my pre‑approval letter. When I arrived, the finance manager informed me that I could not take the vehicle without a physical check in hand—directly contradicting what the salesman told me. Even though the misinformation came from their staff, they refused to honor it. I ended up using their in‑house financing at a slightly higher APR, which I accepted just to keep the process moving. While the finance manager was out of the office, the used car sales manager came back and told me the price we had both signed was suddenly going up because they “miscalculated” the taxes—despite having my full address from the beginning. Their mistake was $1,300. After going back and forth, I still ended up paying $400 more than the agreed‑upon price. If this had been a local dealership, I would have walked out immediately. But because I had already flown in, they knew I had limited options. It felt like they used that leverage to squeeze more money out of me. Considering they also made additional profit from me financing through Mazda, the fact that they still pushed their own error onto the customer was unacceptable. I will not be returning to this dealership, and I will not recommend them to my family in the DC area. Overall, a very disappointing and unprofessional experience.”

“I worked with Noemy, the Kelley Blue Book liaison, and had a great experience selling my car. She was quick to reply, great with communication, and made it easy for me to choose a time that worked with my schedule. I was very clear on what I was seeking and she was able to accommodate my offer. She made the appraisal and the appointment very easy, and unlike the huge car "warehouse" used car dealer, we had a one-on-one more boutique style meeting. I felt that she was very honest and open with me, and that was important. I highly recommend working with Noemy and Safford Mazda.”

“Coming from Richmond Virginia, Luke (I didn’t get his last name) and his brother (salesmen) were fantastic and helped out buying process quick! We been hunting down my car for a week and as soon as I called the dealership, they was ready to close but they still took us in and I really appreciated that. Luke and the finance person (I didn’t get his name but Luke can tell you) worked out a good deal for me and I drove home happy! I appreciate yall!”

“This review is a little overdue, but I recently purchased a Mazda CX-50 Hybrid from Safford Brown Mazda Fairfax, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Donnie Gray was friendly, approachable, and genuinely easy to work with. He gave us the freedom to take our time and never applied any pressure, which made the whole process stress-free and comfortable. It’s been over a month now, and I absolutely love my Mazda CX-50 hybrid. I haven't had any issues and it checks every box for my needs. If you're in the market for a similar type of car and are thinking RAV4, CRV, or Forrester, consider this one. It's awesome! Thanks to Donnie and the whole staff for making the process so smooth.”
