“The pricing here is not transparent. A vehicle listed at $29k quickly turned into more than $36k after the dealership added inflated fees and unnecessary charges. When I asked for a realistic out‑the‑door number, I was told the price couldn’t be adjusted and was sarcastically told to “take a train” to pick up the car and drive it 8 hours back home. I didn't do anything but ask for a better deal and this is how I was treated. People please reconsider before embarking on a dead end joruney. This lack of professionalism, character, and integrity should be reason enough for anyone to "steer" clear away from this place. If you happen to fall upon the misfortune of shopping here, make sure you request a full written quote before wasting your time and don't you dare ask for a deal or try to advocate for yourself as a consumer.”

“I should have listened. I should have listened. I should have listened...to the other 1 star reviews on this page. My experience with Jim McKay is so bad as to be nearly beyond belief, but I bring receipts.
I brought my 2023 Chevy Suburban in three separate times for a recurring transmission issue — they had my vehicle for nearly 50 cumulative days across those visits and never once fixed the problem. Each time, it went into limp mode within days of getting it back.
The communication was nonexistent. My Service Advisor, David, rarely called me with an update. I had to chase them down repeatedly, leaving voicemails that went unreturned for days. On multiple occasions I was told "oh, David is at his desk, let me transfer you" only to go straight to voicemail.
Then came Visit 3 — where things went from incompetent to unconscionable. I authorized the technician to drive the vehicle home for diagnostic purposes (which I was hesitant to do, but was told that it was the only option to move forward with diagnosing the vehicle). They drove my vehicle for a full week, to include the day of the large snowstorm that hit in January. The intentionally housed my vehicle offsite, at the technicians house, in a snowstorm. But they didn't just house it. He drove it. His own personal 4wd loaner vehicle - that was driven at least twice to a nearby bar into the wee hours. As if that weren't enough he decided to use the I-66 express lanes without a transponder, leaving me with the toll bill.
When I requested diagnostic session logs to verify that any of the 267 miles accumulated were actually diagnostic in nature, they refused to provide them. They were kind enough, however, to return the vehicle to me on empty after I'd dropped it off with 3/4 of a tank (FWIW, I returned both loaners I had full of gas, despite the fact that neither of them were full when I received them).
Oh but wait, there's more. After all of this, when I went to retrieve the vehicle I noticed that they hand-altered the mileage readout on the invoice. The printed mileage on the invoice was the same as the mileage when I brought the vehicle in. It was hand-written over with the (almost) correct mileage (still 18 miles under). Seems innocuous enough...but what this means is that they are hiding the fact that they put 267 miles on the vehicle w/o supporting diagnostic evidence from their systems; and likely from an audit by GM or an outside auditor.
When I formally documented all of this in writing, Service Director Mike Kentes responded without disputing a single fact — and offered nothing. No explanation. No remedy. No accommodation - not even so much as an apology.
This isn't bad service. This is a betrayal of customer trust and potentially illegal conduct. Avoid this dealership at all costs.”

“I had a great experience working with Omar at the Jim McKay Chevrolet dealership. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. Omar took the time to understand what I was looking for, answered all my questions honestly, and never made me feel pressured. The whole process was smooth and stress-free thanks to him. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and easy to work with when buying/ selling a car, I highly recommend asking for Omar.”

“Beware of Service Manager - Mike Kentes
I had a very disappointing experience with Jim McKay’s Service Department, specifically with the Service Manager, Mike Kentes.
I spent almost $7000 ($6,600 plus and additional $280 for a diagnostic) on engine work and spark plugs. When I picked up my vehicle, I was told it had been driven to ensure the work was completed correctly. However, after only 2 miles, my check engine light came back on.
I had to return to the dealership, which required me to take about 4 hours off work to address an issue that should not have happened in the first place. Throughout this process, Mike Kentes was rude and dismissive. He did not apologize for the incorrect work or the inconvenience it caused.
When I asked about compensation for lost wages, he refused to offer anything other than GM reward points. He even stated, “It was a simple fix—it’s not like we damaged your vehicle,” which felt dismissive and unprofessional given the cost of the repair and my time lost.
I also requested that his statements be put in writing, and he refused.
Overall, the lack of accountability, poor customer service, and refusal to acknowledge or apologize for their mistake made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this service department based on how this situation was handled.”

“I really appreciated the experience working with the team here at Jim McKay Chevrolet to purchase my "New-to-Me" vehicle. The whole process from scheduling a test drive to purchasing was respectful. Thank you Alan, Sam, Kevin, and Milenka for your hard work. I was looking at similar vehicles at another dealership but it was your personal touch that drew me in and kept me thru the sale. I will recommend you to all my friends and co-workers looking for their next ride. Thank you.”
