“Avoid Elgin VW if you expect to be treated with basic dignity. My brother and I spent hours here on Feb 14th with Nicholas, who was trying his best, but the management team is a disgrace. We witnessed Sales Manager David talking down at his staff in front of customers, creating a hostile environment. He also made inappropriate, racially coded comments in Spanish to us, like “me están haciendo sudar” when negotiating, insinuating we knew how to speak Spanish. When we tried to shop for the best interest rate, the GM, Tom, became incredibly aggressive. He used my brother’s ITIN status as a weapon, claiming banks are 'cutting back' because if someone 'gets deported, the banks lose money.' Most disturbingly, Tom repeatedly interrogated me, asking three times in a rude, condescending tone, 'What is he to you?' despite my already identifying as the co-signer. He refused to treat us like legitimate customers until I clarified our family relationship. Using fear of deportation and personal interrogation as 'closing tactics' is unethical and discriminatory. Stay far away from Tom and David.”

“I am very happy that I purchase a car from Volkswagon dealership auto mall in Elgin. I was able to purchase a 2019 Audi Q7 Quattro for my wife. The sale agent Moe Khattab had worked with me 110% so I can purchase the car under my budget. The manager was also so helpful to help before I was about to leave and go to another dealership. They continued to work hard for me until we came to the decision and I finally purchase the car. If anyone is looking for a used quality car please go to Volkswagen auto mall in Elgin. “First time going to Elgin Volkswagen. Inquired about a car we saw online. Made an appointment to stop in to look at car after they worked with us to find a time that would work for us. Upon arrival they were welcoming and offered us something to drink. We talked a little and because of the weather they brought the car inside for us to look at. I did read the carfax ahead of coming to look at car since they had posted it with their ad online. The car was as described, clean and ready to be test driven. After we got back, they gave us time to talk it over. Once we were done, I inquired about a best price offer that they had online. They did honor it and it did save us a few dollars. We agreed on the price and the process was started. It didn't take too long to get paper work together and we did buy an extended warranty for the car. We are very please with salesman and person who put paperwork together. Would buy from them again and would recommend them to others.”

“Incompetent service department. Brought our car in for a tire with a slow leak and check engine light since we have a warranty. Told them which tire it was and that it goes flat within two days. Dealer had the car for 6 hours and told us nothing was wrong with the tire. Two days later, tire was flat again. Called their service department and explained to him like stated before the tire has gone flat yet again and his response was “well what do you want me to do about it”. Took the car to discount tire and they found a nail near the sidewall. Pretty easy to spot, but apparently not for this dealer.”
