āMy Prologue started throwing warning messages and could not recharge. I took it in on December 30 and explained that a moving van was on its way to move me and I was supposed to leave with my two dogs to drive the 500+ miles to my new home within 48 hours. They said they would rush the diagnostics and gave me a loaner, and I explained that my dogs would have to ride in the vehicle if they could not get mine back to me that day, because I no longer had a home to keep them in. They told me that I was only responsible for ensuring the car was returned with the same amount of gasoline in the tank. Late that afternoon, they had only begun diagnostics with no findings yet, and it took a further 24 hours for them to inform me there was an existing service bulletin for the issue and they would try to ātrick the systemā into accepting a charge because, āthe part needed for the service bulletin is currently on a 2-3 week back order.ā They kept my EV through the holiday for a total of four days. When I returned the loaner my dogs were with me because I had no other place to leave them and I apologized for the hair and muddy prints. The rep was very understanding and kind. A couple hours later, though, they called and said they were charging me $130 because they had to send the vehicle to the detail department - the personnel of which are salaried staff, so it didnāt actually cost them a dime. I expressed my displeasure but had no choice in the matter. When I finally was able to drive to my new home, I took the vehicle to a local dealer to address the service bulletin. That service department performed diagnostics and found no issues, searched all databases and found NO service bulletins for the vehicle, and called El Cerrito Honda service to ask them what they had done, but no one at El Cerrito could articulate what happened, nor could they identify the alleged service bulletin. The second dealership could only assume that El Cerritoās service dept fed me a load of nonsense and then pushed me out the door. This is the 8th Honda that I have purchased or leased from various Honda dealers across the country over the past 30 years. I would advise Honda drivers to avoid this service dept at all costs.ā

āMy experience at el cerrito honda was definitely a 9 out of 10. We actually didnāt come in to purchase a crv but Roberto Pineda showed us his and we were hooked. Everyone there was so nice. The only problem I have is I donāt feel like you make a big deal when you give the customer the car. I didnāt get a bow. I wanted to take a picture in front of the dealership with the bow on my car. We purchased a car from Vallejo 2 years ago. They put a big bow on the car that made a great photo op. I can include photos el cerrito just pulled the new car up next to our car that we were trading in and handed us the keys. Womp, womp, there was nothing exciting about that. I fell it should be more exciting. You donāt buy a new car every day. I donāt think I should have to ask for a bow that should be part of your customer service especially for new cars. The handing over the keys was like a cashier giving me change!! Yāall need to take a chapter out of Saturns play book. Yes I know the company is closed. But when you purchased a car they let you drive it off the showroom floor as the employees were singing. Now maybe singing employees is a bit much but yall can do something to make the customer feel special. Especially after being in the dealership for 5 hours. We were exhausted by the time we shook the loan guys hand. We needed something to lift our spirits and to wake us up!! Now Iām not taking anything from any of the employees they were all professional and very nice. I just need something a little more special. But we love our car. Thank you so much!! We can still bring the car back and let you put a bow on it and take pictures šššā

āI had been searching for a great deal on a Honda Clarity because itās a great hybrid plugin. I finally found one at El Cerrito Honda and was set up a great deal by Kay Shahid and Erin Brey in Finance. I got a wonderful 2019 Honda Clarity with only 22k miles for $24,500. Itās practically brand new. Itās a great car, 40-45 miles per charge with a 7 gallon gas tank. I love it.ā
