“I purchased a 2014 Mazda CX-5 from Puente Hills Ford a few months ago, and my experience with their service and sales process has been extremely disappointing. When the brake master cylinder failed—a critical safety issue—I was quoted nearly $1,900 in repairs, including a brake booster replacement. It took 4 days of back-and-forth between the sales and service staff just to get this answer, and almost 2 weeks of unreturned calls before my car was even looked at. By then, my 90-day warranty had already expired. Frustrated, I went to my trusted local mechanic for a second opinion. They confirmed I did not need a new brake booster at all—only a master cylinder and new brake pads on all four wheels. The total repair cost me under $1,100, nearly $800 less than Puente Hills Ford quoted. My mechanic also provided pictures showing how worn my brake pads were and noted that the dealership had never flushed my brake lines, despite claiming the car passed a “100+ point inspection.” This means Puente Hills Ford sold me a car with bad brakes from the start—low pads and a failing master cylinder. There is no way I wore down all four sets of pads in the short time I’ve owned the car. I purchased from this dealership because I trusted their inspection process and expected support if issues arose, especially since I purchased an extended warranty for an additional $2k. Instead, I was sold an unsafe car, over-quoted for repairs, and left with no accountability from the dealership. Buyers beware.”
