“While traveling through from Charlotte, NC to Denver, CO on a business trip in 2022 with my RV camper in tow, my 2019 F-250 with 80k miles shifted out of gear on the interstate and wouldn't go back into gear. The transmission was still under warranty, so I attempted to get it repaired by the dealership. After having it towed to Ken Wilson Ford, they told me I couldn't get it looked at for 11 weeks, which I thought was oddly specific, but they said they didn't have an opening for a diesel transmission tech to look at it before then.
I had to be in Colorado two days later, and had everything I owned in my RV camper, which I lived in after a recent divorce, so I couldn't just hop on a plane and fly to Colorado. It seems that, if I couldn't get the F-250 repaired, I would need to trade it in for another vehicle. I didn't see any other option at the time.
So, I traded my paid off F-250 for a used 2022 Ram 2500. They gave me $62k for the F-250 with 80k miles, which I had bought pre-owned for $83k in 2021, so I only financed $30k or so on the Ram. It seemed like a very unfortunate, but best under the circumstances, way to get through the situation.
Four days later, after having arrived in Colorado the day prior, I got a call from a sales rep at Ken Wilson Ford, who had sold my F-250 within 4 days and needed the door code for the new owner. It seems like they hadn't even bothered to see what was wrong with the truck so that I would be forced to make a difficult decision and lose the most valuable thing I owned that was paid off in full. It burned me up at the time, and I still get heartburn every time I think about it.
Now, I get sales and marketing emails from Ken Wilson Ford, and every one of them is a reminder of that situation, where I felt I was taken advantage of because I was in a precarious situation and was hoping Ford would take care of a truck that was well within its warranty, or that a dealership would be looking out for a customer in need. Neither of those two things happened. Either they just didn't care enough about a customer to look at my truck, or they just wanted the truck and my money for a new vehicle. Either way, they sold the F-250 within days after telling me they couldn't even look at it for 11 weeks.
What was my dream truck when I bought it turned into the greatest single source of regret in my life, maybe because I had the misfortune of the truck breaking down in Canton, NC. Had I been somewhere else, maybe they would have treated my truck the same way they treated it after it belonged to the dealership. Clearly, the diesel transmission techs work miracles that are simply impossible for a customer, if that truck was fixed and sold within 96 hours. Alternatively, maybe it was a simple fix and they knew it, but counted on me to make a desperate decision that worked out in their favor. That possibility burns even more.
I do give them one star for letting me pick up some of my equipment, which they held for me, on my way back through a couple weeks later. Of course, by that time, my F-250 was long gone. Had I known it could be on the road in four days, I'd never have traded it. I'd still be driving my favorite truck ever, right now.
I wouldn't have given them a review after so much time, but their sales emails in my inbox bring it back up every time. Take my review with a grain of salt, but don't get caught slipping at Ken Wilson Ford like I did. It completely changed the way I feel about Ford in general, and I was a lifelong Ford driver. I haven't had another one since the Ken Wilson Ford experience. I definitely don't want another Ken Wilson Ford experience.

Jody Bell was my salesperson and he was friendly, honest, and never pushy. The whole staff was great to work with and made the process easy from start to finish.
