“Had a great experience at Mazda with DJ (last name Cherry, I believe). He was welcoming, informative, and made the process easy — even as a new team member. I bought a car the same day and will definitely be recommending them to my sister. I also want to thank the two other gentlemen who stepped in to help us — I didn’t catch their names, but one had tattoos and the other had an amazing accent and took the time to walk me through every little detail about the car. “Neil B. gets 5 stars for being patient, kind, and accommodating while I purchased my pre-owned Lexus. The detail was 5 stars as well, as this car’s interior/exterior looked immaculate. The service shop gets 0 stars, because a week after my purchase the car leaked oil from the filter housing so bad such that the whole bottom of the car was coated in a layer of oil. It turns out that when Walser changed the oil, the O-ring was placed in the wrong groove and the filter housing was tightened well-past the 18ft-lb torque spec judging from how incredibly difficult this was to get loose. The O-ring dropped into the oil pan in three pieces once I was finally able to wrench the housing off. That Walser-installed filter/oil had less than 250 miles on it before it had to be changed yet again due to complete negligence of the incompetent techs who “serviced” this Lexus. Also, the TPMS sensors either were not programmed correctly or are faulty, since the pressure signals are very spotty as to whether they communicate with the vehicle or not. Some days the light stays off without reading any pressures, other days the car reads the correct pressures fine, and others still the car’s TPMS light flashes and stays illuminated. This makes me doubt the “100+ point inspection” the dealer was said to have performed on this vehicle. Also, I don’t know why the service department would remove the tint on this vehicle as long as it was a legal spec (which it had to have been since this car had been Lexus-serviced and in MN for all of its life). All-in-all, Walser deserves 3 stars and nothing more. Had my dad not noticed the oil spots under my car, catastrophic damage would have likely been caused by running on such low engine oil due to their service department’s complete failure at a routine oil change. If you’re considering buying a car from Walser, budget an extra $100+ for another oil/filter change right after purchase, and maybe another $250+ for servicing the TPMS sensors/programming, and maybe $300+ for re-tinting the car.”
