We spent a lot of time discussing our budget and what we were looking for and we test drove two used Subarus. We discussed the pros and cons of paying cash for an older vehicle versus getting a much better car and getting a small loan for the balance above our budget. We chose the latter because it was an ideal way of establishing credit for my daughter. The car was in excellent shape and the price was very good. At first the proposed interest rate was somewhat high, but by the time we concluded the sale they had gotten it knocked down to something very reasonable and that helped our budget.
