Great Car!

Tuesday, October 17, 2017

Im very happy with my 2017 GLI Manual. It feels solid, handles great, has plenty of power and is very refined. I love driving it and would make the same choice if I had it to do again. Fuel economy is better than expected. I cant speak to the reliability, but build quality is great!

35,000 miles on VW's 1.4 turbo/5M

Monday, April 12, 2021

Purchased when VW was confronted by the diesel emissions legal proceedings. This situation resulted in deep discounts - - -both manufacturer and dealer. So I paid an extremely low price and have experienced zero defects since 9/2017 purchase. The small turbo - driven carefully - gets stellar MPG. Fuelly dot com calc just under 41 MPG in 65/35 city/highway use.

After 2 years of constant driving...I love it

Sunday, December 27, 2020

Bought 1 of the diesel buy back wagons from the local dealership, and put 20k on it over the past 20 months. Love my red VW diesel sport wagon. Little hills that my old kia kicked into overdrive on, this diesel just sails up. I typically don't speed my cars, but this diesel just always wants me to set the cruise at 90. Just purrs along getting 35 on the hilly freeway to Mexico, and 30 in the city. I change the oil myself at 5k (halfway between the 10 it says to do it at.) Only complaint is a slight hesitation when I give it gas. Maybe I'll invest in a Kermatune set-up? Anyway I feel like I get it. No shade for my Toyota or Kia past, but I'm really liking this diesel VW. It's heavier feeling, faster, and more classy than the 10k I paid for it.
