Excellent long-distance touring car.

09/07/2020

Excellent long-distance touring car. Extremely comfortable seats. Driver assistance features (e.g., dynamic cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, emergency stopping, etc.) on-par with the best. The T6 model's turbo/supercharger system offers excellent and responsive engine performance. Mileage, after 2000 miles of driving, corresponds with the window sticker's EPA estimates of 31 highway, while my city mpg is 24 versus EPA's 21, all with 91+ octane fuel (as required). Interior and exterior material quality and fit-and-finish is excellent. First 3 years of routine maintenance included, along with non-run-flat tires, which are typically longer lasting and less costly to replace, versus run-flat tires now found on the V90's competitor vehicles. People have stopped to marvel at the car, take pictures and ask about it. The V90 Inscription is rarer than a Ferrarri in the USA. Would definitely buy this car again. With all this said, no car is perfect. Its closest competitors (i.e., Benz E450 Estate Wagon and Audi A6 All-Road), offer V6 engines vs Volvo's 4 cylinder, with comparable or slightly better fuel mileage and more power. It should be noted that the V90's competitors are priced far higher than the V90. Lastly, the V90's 15 gallon fuel tank is fairly small, in comparison.

Great alternative to a SUV

06/18/2019

I just bought a brand new 2018 V90CC leftover. I got about 28% discount from list. So it’s a huge bang for the buck. The car is smooth as silk. I wasn’t looking for a car quite this large but then again it’s only 4 inches longer than an Outback. The level of safety features is unparalleled. Anything you can think of is in it. I have the base engine and it’s fine. It’s no world beater but on the highway I’ve gotten 30 mpg. I had a Tiguan they never got close to that. It’s extremely roomy, stylish, comfortable and versatile. I’ve moved furniture, towed a trailer, gotten groceries, mulch, took out my kayaks and bikes. It’s great without having to use a step ladder to put stuff up on the roof. I’m 6’3 and the rear has room for me with my drivers seat in position for me! What’s not to like. Beautiful, stylish, wonderful driving car rather than driving a box on wheels aka an SUV!

Volvo V90 Station Wagon

10/27/2021

I previously owned a Volvo station wagon (740). The previous body style was smaller making it easier to park and maneuver. My new 2021 Volvo V90 station wagon is large (195” long and 76” wide). I bought the 2021 Inscription T6 Cross-country V90, the MSRP was $65,000. For a large car this size I would normally expect a smoother ride, road imperfections are readily felt by driver and passenger. Due to the length of this car, it is not easily maneuvered making it harder to park. I would have expected the interior to be quieter and more insulated from the noise of the outside world and the road. The car is in between a sedan and a SUV (it is lower than a SUV making it easier to get into and out of, but higher than the comparable sedan making harder to to get into and out of than a sedan). For the price of the car, I would have expected softer, higher quality interior components (on the top of the doors, on top of the dash, on the console and the console covering, on the finish around the cargo area. Also, the leather seats for $65,000 should be made of a higher quality softer grain leather. For the price of this car the doors should have been covered in high grade leather and the dash as well). I have only had my car for 2 1/2 months and driven 800 miles.
