“I recently purchased a vehicle from Select and had a very disappointing experience with the dealership. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. To avoid writing an essay, as the owner suggested in his response to my concerns, I’ll summarize my main points:
- The sales representative took over 4 to 5 hours to return my calls/texts on more than one occasion, if they returned at all that day.
- The sales representative never answered my questions without consulting someone else first.
- The hood struts were inoperable, causing the hood to not stay open.
- I never received a call to pick up my car after repairs identified during the pre-inspection.
- I was promised some touch-up paint work would be done at cost, but this never happened, despite apologies from both the office and the gentleman who I thought would do the job.
Having never bought a used vehicle before, I learned a lot through this experience, but it didn’t change my core values. What happened to professionalism, or the idea that a man’s word is his bond? If I owned an automobile dealership, I would do everything in my power to ensure that the customer drives off the lot feeling respected, appreciated, valued, and comfortable with their purchase. Instead, they seemed focused on disputing a $11 hood strut because I didn’t lift the hood prior to leaving off the lot. I felt as though they took my $15,000 upfront and were indifferent to my concerns afterward.”
