What is HondaTrue Certified Pre-Owned?
Buyers can purchase used Honda vehicles with extended warranties and additional benefits.

Not every buyer is comfortable purchasing a used car from a private seller. Manufacturer-certified pre-owned (CPO) programs present an opportunity to purchase used automobiles with extended warranties and bonus services such as free oil changes and roadside emergency care added for buyers at prices more affordable than brand-new vehicles.
In the case of the HondaTrue CPO program, the Japanese automaker offers three levels of certification for Honda vehicles up to a decade old, depending on vehicle age and mileage.

Which vehicles are included?
HondaTrue sorts used Honda vehicles into three categories. Certified+ includes nearly new 2022-2021 model-year vehicles with less than 12,000 miles. HondaTrue Certified is for vehicles 2017 and newer with less than 80,000 miles. And since the program was expanded in 2022, HondaTrue Used includes vehicles 2012 and newer with no mileage limit.
HondaTrue applies to a wide range of cars, minivans, trucks, and crossover SUVs across the entire Honda lineup, including variations of the Accord and Civic sedans, the Ridgeline pickup truck, the CR-V, HR-V, Passport and Pilot SUVs, and the Odyssey minivan.

How are HondaTrue certified pre-owned vehicles inspected?
Honda technicians subject potential vehicles to a 182-point inspection of the engine, brakes, steering, suspension, and body components as well as the cabin and electronics. Repairs are made as necessary, and the vehicle gets the HondaTrue certification. Buyers can download the inspection report.

What does the HondaTrue extended warranty program include?
For Certified+ vehicles, limited warranty coverage of the powertrain for seven years or 100,000 miles is added, and non-powertrain issues are covered by Honda's five-year/86,000-mile new-vehicle limited warranty.
Five-year-old or newer Certified vehicles also get seven-year or 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty coverage, and the new-vehicle limited warranty for non-powertrain coverage extends to four years or 48,000 miles. If the Certified vehicle sells after the limited warranty has expired, Honda adds a year or 12,000 miles of coverage.
HondaTrue Used models are given limited powertrain and non-powertrain coverage of 100 days or 5,000 miles.
Certified+ and Certified warranties measure from the start of new car service unless otherwise noted. HondaTrue Used warranties begin when the used-car buyer takes delivery of the vehicle.

What other benefits are included?
All three HondaTrue CPO categories get a package including benefits such as a zero-dollar deductible for any repairs made during the reconditioning process. All buyers of used Honda vehicles are eligible to purchase Honda Care vehicle service contracts. CPO buyers get Honda's roadside assistance program for two years or 50,000 miles, beginning at the expiration of their car's new vehicle warranty or from the date of sale of the used vehicle if the new car warranty has already expired. The program includes towing, flat-tire changes, battery boosts, and emergency fuel delivery.
Certified+ and Certified buyers also qualify for two free oil changes during the first year of ownership. HondaTrue Used buyers get one complimentary first-year oil change.
If your mind changes after buying a CPO vehicle, you can take advantage of a three-day, 300-mile exchange policy to swap it for a different HondaTrue Certified, Certified+, or HondaTrue Used vehicle from the dealer's inventory. You also receive a copy of the Carfax or AutoCheck vehicle history report.
CPO buyers qualify for free trip interruption and concierge services plus a free 90-day trial of SiriusXM satellite radio.
