Depending on the vehicle and the size of your family, an SUV that seats seven passengers can be a great choice for large families. Even smaller families can benefit from these SUVs as the extra seating is great for carpooling and simply letting everyone spread out. There's also the option to tow, which adds the versatility to take along larger items that won't fit inside.

While an SUV that seats seven can be roomy, not all offer second and third rows that are comfortable for adults for anything longer than a brief trip. Cargo capacity is also a consideration, especially behind the third row when you have a full load of passengers. The SUVs on our list have good standard features, roomy second and third rows to offer enough seating for everyone, and plenty of room for cargo.

Each of our choices had to meet the following criteria:

Towing: The SUV had to have a maximum tow rating of at least 5,000 lbs when properly equipped

Cargo: The SUV had to have a minimum of 85 cu.-ft. for cargo behind the front seats

Infotainment: The SUV had to have a screen size of at least 6.5 inches along with standard smartphone connectivity

Whether you want a budget-friendly option, something luxurious, or even an SUV ready to head off-road, there's a seven-passenger SUV that's sure to suit your needs.

I write about cars. A lot. That's because I’ve always loved cars and the fact that they regularly hand me the keys to shiny new automobiles so I can write about them is a constant source of amazement. I cover breaking news, write reviews, and attend auto shows and new vehicle launches across the country. The more winding the road and the more unknown the route, the better.
