Compared: 2022 Chrysler Pacifica vs. 2022 Honda Odyssey
Powertrains, cargo space, and available features make the difference between these popular minivans.
Honda | Chrysler
Two powerhouses of the minivan segment, the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica and the 2022 Honda Odyssey, offer an impressive range of features, making it tricky to decide which may be best for your family.
Pricing is comparable, but Pacifica has an edge in horsepower and offers powertrain options not found on Odyssey. The Honda counters with generous safety and technology features.
Honda
Chrysler Pacifica vs. Honda Odyssey: Price
The Odyssey is offered in five trims, ranging from the base LX at around $34,000 to nearly $50,000 for the Elite. There aren’t a whole bunch of individual options, as Honda has bundled most of them with each trim level. Accordingly, you have to reach up to the top two trims to get the headline features—like a rear-seat entertainment system.
Chrysler
The Pacifica mostly hews close in price to the Odyssey: The base Touring is offered just below $39,000, with the Pinnacle around $56,000. Touring L models offer all-wheel drive for an additional $2,995 ($2,795 on Limited and Pinnacle). The rear seat entertainment system standard on Pinnacle is offered as the Uconnect Theater Family Group on Touring L and Limited as a $4,395 option.
Pacifica is also available as a plug-in hybrid in three trims, starting with the Touring L for about $49,000 and ending with the Pinnacle at around $59,000 before factoring in up to $7,500 in possible federal tax credits and additional state incentives.

Chrysler Pacifica vs. Honda Odyssey: Features
The 2022 Pacifica and Odyssey are similar in many ways, from suspension setups, to brakes, and dimensions. Their 3.6L and 3.5L V6 engines (respectively) even produce similar figures of 287 and 280 horsepower. The Honda does hold a notable advantage in cargo space from behind the front row, however, at 144.9 cubic feet to the Chrysler’s 140.5.
Chrysler
Comfort and convenience are what separate the two minivans, but that very much depends on trim levels and available options. From the base Touring model, the Pacifica’s Uconnect5 infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen is larger than anything found on any Odyssey model. On the other hand, Honda offers its Rear Entertainment System from the Touring trim, just under the range-topping Elite, just under $46,000; a similarly equipped Pacifica Touring L, just one step up from base and factoring in the package cost for the Uconnect Theater Family Group, runs more than $47,500.

Chrysler Pacifica vs. Honda Odyssey: Fuel Economy
As with horsepower, Odyssey and Pacifica also match up in mpg. In front-wheel-drive trim, both rate at an EPA-estimated 22 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive, Pacifica’s efficiency takes a hit down to 20 mpg combined.
Chrysler
The ultimate fuel economy play between the Honda and Chrysler is the Pacifica plug-in hybrid, rated at an impressive 82 MPGe combined. Again, it comes down to your specific needs and priorities. You’ll take a hit in efficiency and price on Pacifica’s all-wheel drive, but it’s not offered on Odyssey at all, nor is any hybrid system, plug-in or not.
