The 2024 Hummer EV SUV is the newest model in GMC's all-electric super-truck lineup, following the Hummer EV Pickup that debuted in 2022. Powering the Hummer EV SUV is General Motors' next-generation Ultium Drive system for high-performance on- and off-road capabilities with zero emissions.

Slightly smaller than its pickup sibling, the Hummer EV SUV is no less brawny. Sitting on a 126.7-inch wheelbase, the SUV measures 77.8 inches tall, 93.7 inches wide, and up to 206.7 inches in total length. Front and rear overhangs are 34.7 and up to 45.3 inches, respectively.

Depending on the trim level, the Hummer EV SUV features a two- or three-motor system. Equipped with two electric motors, the Hummer EV2 and EV2X produce up to 625 horsepower and 7,400 pound-feet of torque. The Hummer EV3X and Edition 1 feature a three-motor e4WD system for up to 830 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque.

The Hummer EV SUV off-road specs are attention grabbing. Available technology such as Extract Mode, which uses an adaptive air suspension to provide an extra 6 inches of ground clearance, and CrabWalk, a four-wheel-steering feature that allows the vehicle to move sideways, increase the vehicle's off-road capabilities. When equipped, the Hummer EV SUV has a maximum ground clearance of 16 inches, can ford water up to 32 inches deep, scale 18-inch verticals, and has 13 inches of front and rear suspension travel. The GMC Hummer EV SUV rides on 35-inch tires.

GMC estimates the Hummer EV SUV's range at up to 300 miles for the EV2X SUV, EV3X SUV, and standard EV SUV Edition 1. The estimated range for the base Hummer EV2 SUV is around 250 miles, but GMC says it's capable of 300-plus miles with a range extender.

While GMC hasn't released charging times specifically for the Hummer EV SUV, a similarly equipped 2022 Hummer EV Pickup can add nearly 100 miles of range in about 10 minutes via DC fast charging. Also, an 800-volt fast-charging system capable of up to 300 kW is standard on all but the base SUV model, where it is an available option.

2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Price and Release Date
All 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV reservations are full as of time of publication. The base two-motor Hummer EV SUV price started at around $80,000, while the EV2X SUV retailed for about $90,000. The tri-motor EV3X SUV began at approximately $100,000, and the EV SUV Edition 1 started at about $107,000.
Production of Edition 1 models began in January 2023, with deliveries expected during the year's first quarter. GMC says other Hummer EV SUV trims will arrive by spring 2024.
