Bank’s Electronic Banking channel may be used to request Bank to perform a stop payment of a check payable on a Customer’s Account. This is in addition to the other stop payment methods as described in Bank’s Rules Governing Deposit Accounts. The stop payment request must specifically identify the item with the following information: the Account number, issue date, serial number, exact amount, payee, and stop reason. The request must be received by Bank in sufficient time to give Bank reasonable opportunity to act on the electronic request before Bank pays the item. Customer understands that unless Bank has complete and accurate information from Customer, Bank may be unable to identify the check for which a stop payment has been requested which will result in the check being paid.
By initiating a stop payment request for an item, Customer agrees that Customer will indemnify and hold Bank harmless from and against any claim arising in connection with Bank’s refusal to pay the item. A stop payment request will remain in effect only for a period of six (6) months from the date thereof, but it may be renewed at Customer’s discretion.
