Nicknamed the City of Lakes, Minneapolis, Minnesota is known for its cold winters, extensive trail system and vibrant dining scene. It’s also the home of Ann Kim, chef and owner at Young Joni, a restaurant focused on global wood-fire cooking traditions including pizza and Korean short ribs. Never one to take a traditional path, Kim was not formally trained as a chef but learned the “hustle” vital to her restaurant’s success during her first career as a stage actress. Today she shares her favorite spots in Minneapolis including a coffee shop, a burger joint and her own restaurant.
