Editor's notes
It seems there’s always room for an elegant coupe or soft-top like the Mercedes-Benz CLE, even if automotive trends go off in other directions. The CLE replaces 2-door versions of older C-Class and E-Class generations, becoming a class of its own. Mercedes-Benz launched the 4-seater CLE last year, packing it with plenty of contemporary technology while also making sure it offers the kind of typical luxury that buyers demand — like high-quality cabin materials and optional massage functions.
The CLE comes in coupe and cabriolet versions. If the cabriolet term is unfamiliar, it usually means a convertible with two rows of seating.
We’ve logged hundreds of hours driving and evaluating this generation of luxury coupes and convertibles, including the Mercedes-Benz CLE.
