Poor winter car

01/19/2025

I really wanted to like this Mitsubishi. Unfortunately, there are so many flaws in this vehicle it makes it a complete flop unless you have a small family living in a warm urban area and don’t travel more than 20 miles a day. let me be specific about my complaints - 1. The connectivity, which is a large portion of their software pkg is horrible. It can never find your car. It will never connect to your car to start it to lock it , to give you your info, etc. it is just that the telemetry is horrible. 2, the heater does not work whatsoever in cold weather, only when using the petrol engine function can you get some sort of warm air eventually, but it will take a while. 3. Battery - If if if it can be used ( YES - they shutoff your EV, charging and save mode when it’s cold) is only 30% despite getting a full charge. Research why Mitsubishi Canada is being sued, Mits did not insulate the battery or offer any remedy so its useless in cold weather. 3. All cruise control is disabled in the cold. Your car may not have one speck of snow, rain, ice on it and the road is dry/clear but you cannot use cruise control at all. I can understand disabling a lot of the adapted cruise control functions like the steering lane control, the following distance of the car in front of you, etc. but to not have the option to just use regular old standard transmission cruise control when needed is abysmal. 4. No CHademo adapter - good luck finding charging stations. 5. Car locks itself after 30 seconds with key inside, using second keyfob is useless - must use 2nd key mechanical key to open. 6. Door panels, like much of the interior, is plasticky and flimsy. When you close the door, it feels like the panel will come off. 7. Squirrelly as heck on snow, the rear drive with alleged saw is a joke - car is all over the place and I won’t take it on any slick roads, my E-bike performs better. 8. Suspension is stiff for what is supposed to be an upscale suv/wagon, not smooth/pleasant at all. 9. Audio system is buggy and weak, if your kids are making any noise, you can’t hear the music- very weak power. I’ll stop here. There are many more minor things that I could ramble on about but let me tell you this, it’s is my third Mitsubishi. I’m an early adopter, Japanese person, who really wanted to support them but they absolutely missed the mark and are so extremely overpriced for this vehicle I couldn’t urge you to avoid it enough unless you: live in the south, need a third row and don’t commute more than 20 miles to use its EV function. I have three vehicles, I’m a “car guy” and this is by far one of the worst vehicles I’ve ever driven and I really wanted to like it. I am glad I only leased it for two years, it is 23 months too long for me. So many better PHEV’s on the market that are a much better value

Remote starting

01/10/2025

The vehicle had a 2-year free subscription for a remote-starting app. After two years, you have to purchase the subscription in order to start the vehicle remotely. No other options. I find that unacceptable.
