Great Car

05/16/2025

The PHEV seems to have some issues but the 3.3T has been great. There are some infotainment and styling quirks like other cars, but nothing that’s too detracting. The drive is great. Plenty of power hauling a family of 4, dogs, 4 bikes, roof storage going up mountains. The rwd biased AWD works great. The inline 6 is smooth. Nice handling. Transmission was a little rough, but after the software update, feels much better. Exterior styling is nice. Interior could use a little more room. Mazda focused on a long elegant hood line to house a I6 that leaves less cabin room. Gas mileage has been high 20’s. It will do over 30 highway if you’re gentle. Overall I’d say 4.5/5.

Buyer Beware

02/15/2025

This car looks beautiful and does have some nice features but has had way too many recalls with several involving safety. Another big hitter....the depreciation. Our car's value dropped by close to 20,000 dollars in a year and a half. This has been my worst experience purchasing a new vehicle. This was also my first and last time owning a Mazda.

Luxury looking… nothing works

09/23/2024

At first glance and on test drive, the car is beautiful. I got the top of the line Turbo S premium plus. Then…you pay for it and a month later you discover everything that’s wrong with it: 1. My garage opener won’t pair with the car’s garage opening button. I’ve tried. Many times. And I am a handy and smart person. My husband also did some research on the internet and could not get it to work. We’ve had other cars paired w absolutely no issue. 2. The wireless charger basically never charges your phone and overheats it. When your phone is on the charger and you accelerate the phone comes flying out at you. 3. The cup holders won’t hold my Owala bottle. 4. The second row seat is hard to move forward to get someone into the back 5. One day I discovered that my rear view mirror didn’t turn back up after backing out of my driveway - nearly caused an accident. 6. When my sunglasses are in the sunglass holder, it makes a rattling noise against the plastic and makes the car sound cheap. 7. WORST offender : my brakes consistently squeal at slow brakes and I am told that it is what it is by mazda service and also customer experience rep. Apparently this has been an issue with the cx-90s (google it). Great so now I have a $61k car that sounds 20 years old wherever I go. So embarrassing and ridiculous. Not to mention headache-inducing. After being a solid Honda and Toyota owner for years, I will never get another Mazda again.
