Great tow vehicle.

Truck handles 5th wheel with ease. Gas engine never struggles. Transmission is smooth and keeps rig at desired speed up and down mountains. Ride is good for heavy duty.

A truck that does what a truck should

03/24/2022

I want value for my money and a plush ride isn’t on the list of needs. Ford has a great truck but you’re going to pay several thousand more for it. Rams are fine, but not for me. I traded my 1/2 ton Ford for this truck when deciding to get some to get something with more power. I’ve owned Chevy trucks in the past and none of them let me down. Look at the towing numbers on this type of truck and compare it to Ford & Ram. Look at the power plant reliability of Chevy trucks compared to Ford and Ram. When all of that has been researched, check the prices. You’ll find Chevy has an excellent argument to be considered. My buddy who owns a Ford diesel (of the DEF generation) drove mine with a loaded trailer attached and said he was impressed how well it moved. Ironically, it was a car hauler with a Ford on it that was attached. I use it for work, play, daily commute, and long trips. It’ll do all of these things very well. It’s not perfect. This truck has the same rattle by the driver’s left knee that my last truck had. It also has that rear view mirror that auto switches from day to night, and vice versa, that I hate. I hate it during dawn/sunset times when it thinks it needs to be on day and some yahoo is behind me with NASA quality headlights. It also has the same interactive infotainment flaws my Ford had (and I understand all brands have). It’ll shut off on its own and come back a little later. It’s a nuisance that gets frustrating when Google maps is telling me how to get around in city traffix.

I’ll start with the bad

09/22/2024

I’ll start with the bad. I’ve had to get my 2500 diesel LT back to the dealer too many times to count. The tranny has a known issue where it leaks fluid and they have to replace all the seals. The tensioner essentially exploded causing so much collateral damage it took days to fix. Features of the vehicle weren’t included so we had to return the truck for them to add it in post. It’s a Covid truck, meaning I think the factory forgot how to make trucks when they returned from the pandemic. The good. When it works the towing is great.
