Transfer case will cost you the car

04/19/2025

DO NOT BUY THE TRAILHAWK OR ANYTHING JEEP. I had Trailhawk for a year seemed great until it wasn’t. My transfer case went out without warning. Mopar made a faulty transfer cases. They are not even refurbishing them anymore. Was told by the dealership I might get one in 6 months but they couldn’t be certain. Even if they replaced the part it could have threw metal in the transmission but I wouldn’t know until it initially got fixed. So I was left upside down in payments having to trade in for something else. Because my Trailhawk got towed to a Jeep dealership and wasn’t drivable I got stuck trading in on another Jeep. This time a grand Cherokee Laredo x. Only been driving for 2.5 months and they have replaced the water pump 4 times. Jeep and Stellantis are the absolute worst car company in the history of companies!

Agile, fun, capable

03/03/2025

I’ve owned my car for almost 5 years now since brand new.. It is my daily and I do absolutely love driving it. It takes bumps very well with the bigger sidewalls as mine is the Trailhawk with 17” rims and a meatier stock size tire. It does absolutely amazing in deep snow, mud and thick gravel/sand. The 4WD system is incredible. I really have to try to break traction even in the snow. I call it a lifted rally car cause it’s essentially a jacked up 4WD Chrysler 200. I’ve had a couple electrical problems where the dealer had to replace my vehicles computer. It had a no start issue when it was negative 6 one Christmas and continued every time it was colder than 32 degrees. They think a nick somewhere in the system allowed water to get in and short the sensors when it would freeze. Disappointing, but since the repair I’ve had no issues. It was covered by warranty since it was only a year old. As far as mechanical wise it had a transmission failure at about 50k miles due to a PTU failure. It was covered under warranty but again left me stranded. It’s not perfect but I do absolutely love the styling and the driving experience. I get a lot of compliments with my added rally style mudflaps and roof rails. There is a pretty solid aftermarket following for lifts and overlanding gear as they are really made to adventure. The storage is a little lacking especially with my two kids and my wife taking trips, but we’ve gotten by a more than a few road trips and camping trips with my rooftop tent.
