The 2020 Kia Optima offers three engine options, each with a different performance profile. The base 2.4-liter engine delivers 185 horsepower, while the 1.6-liter turbo offers 178 horsepower, and the 2.0-liter turbo provides 245 horsepower. I bought my Optima in 2020. It had 15,800 miles on the clock. It came with a lifetime drivetrain warranty and I also bought a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty. It now has 121,000 miles on the clock. It drives like it did the day I bought it. Smooth, precise European style handling and plenty of power. I love the look of the car. The interior is made with quality materials, and the ergonomics are excellent. I've maintained it very carefully, making sure that all the fluids have been changed on time. I change the oil every 4,000 miles, rather than KIA's 7,000 mile recommendation. I also carbon clean the upper engine using Seafoam Upper Engine cleaner every 10,000 miles. Essential, because the engine is a GDI unit. If you don't, carbon will accumulate on the valve tops and cause big problems in the long term. I had the spark plugs changed at 100,000 miles and the belts and brake pads changed at 110,000 miles. I've had no mechanical issues with the car at all. The only problems I've had were a failed rear wheel speed sensor which was an easy fix by my local mechanic, and a while later the car went into limp-home mode. I had to take it to KIA, they diagnosed a software error. They updated the Engine Management software, problem solved. I would have rated it 5 stars but deduct 1 star because it does need topping up with oil between changes, and the sound quality of the car's stereo is sometimes great, and sometimes really fuzzy and distorted. I've owned many cars over the years, this is the one I've done the most miles in, with the fewest issues. It's my daily driver. I'll drive this car until the wheels fall off!
