Good, but prepare to sweat a lot.

We bought this about two years ago. Engine has held up great but have had multiple issues with the air-conditioning. Very frustrating when it is 90+ degrees outside!

Stylish with an awesome Factory Bose System

07/16/2024

I went from a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 with no air conditioning, and no radio, but I loved that truck, just couldn't take the rough rider funk I was in. It looked like a mail truck so I camouflaged it with a little DYI. Being in a truck as comfotable, reliable, and appealing as my Canyon didnt take much adjusting to. I have been driving my GMC Canyon for a year next month, not only am I impressed with the comfort, style and especially the stereo system, I haven't had any issues with it, at all. I put less than 10k miles on it, and love the straight get up and go this truck has. Im not afraid of the gas pedal and know exactly where it is, and with a heavy foot I find myself enjoying the separation a little too much. It's unbelievably quick for a truck, the seats adjust to any position you want to drive in, windows are slightly tinted which is nice, the soft tonneau is a nice trunk like addition, with a nice step on each side of the rear bumper to help access the bed comfortably without looking like I'm 80, amd rolling into the bed, wired and equipped for a trailer, heated seats, rear defrost, on the fly 4wd, it honestly has so many features, Im still learning all the ins and outs of them all. The only thing I don't like are the rims and that's honestly my only complaint after a year. Thats actually the only thing outside of runners and a headache rack that I was going to change to matte black rims. The factory Bose Stereo is just sick, it's the loudest system I've had in any of my vehicles and I owned a Mercedes, 2 Infinity I 30's Land Rover, Toyota, and a Chevy Sierra. I've actually owned a heck of a lot of vehicles, excluding my SLK320 Hardtop, this truck is up there as the best I've owned, it is loaded, like I said and performs like it is. I'm not going to say I drive rough, but I get there, I like to give myself space on the road too, and just enjoy kicking it out and letting it go once in awhile, or most of the time. I haven't been off road, I live in Baltimore, Maryland, it's all off road on these city bombed out streets. It wasn't too expensive, gets great gas mileage adjusting back and forth from 4 to 6 cylinders depending on how you're driving. It has a nice little gauge in the info bar i use a lot to help save gas by giving miles per gallon for 25,50 and up to 100 mile intervals, showing exactly how your driving coincides to gas comsumptiom, which is fantastic. I heard it holds it's value, it should, it has everything in it for any adventure, short day trip, or succinct drive out of boredom, and can do the work as well. I have a 12' trailer, loaded with a few mowers on the weekends to cut some of my relatives lawns for them, it handled the weight perfect. I take good care of it, keep it looking like it was just washed and waxed all the time. Great truck, it's only been a year, but I love it so far and have zero legitimate complaints!

Auto Trans fails

05/18/2024

I like my 17' Canyon just fine, except for the 8 speed Auto Transmission. It started slipping at 63,000 miles. Dealer & GMC wouldn't respond to my questions. I was told by a A.T. shop that GMC had issued a TSB regarding the problem a couple years before. I never recieved that notice. Bottom line is that over $700.00 later I still have slippage / hard shifting, and at 100,000 miles, it's getting worse. I'll never trust or buy a GMC product again.
