Maverick is an old Ford nameplate resurrected for use on a new small pickup truck. The Maverick is genuinely small, based on the Ford Bronco Sport platform, and equipped with a crew-style cab and a short 4.5-foot cargo bed. A fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain is standard, powering the truck’s front wheels. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine is available, and is required if you want all-wheel drive. Thanks to its 250 horsepower, a turbocharged Ford Maverick can tow as much as 4,000 pounds, double what a Maverick hybrid can handle. Maximum payload capacity measures 1,500 lbs.
