  • Pros: The Pacifica offers excellent versatility with Stow 'n Go seats, innovative family-friendly features, and available all-wheel drive.
  • Cons: Sadly, the plug-in hybrid version is no longer available, nor is any hybrid powertrain.
  • The Takeaway: As the descendant of the original minivan, the Pacifica continues to impress with its spacious, comfortable cabin and easy-to-drive nature.

It's been more than 40 years since Chrysler introduced the minivan to the United States, and the company continues its run with the 2027 Pacifica. The Pacifica once stood apart from the competition with its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, but even without the PHEV option — discontinued for the 2026 model year — the Pacifica's family-friendly focus and advanced safety systems help to carry on the Chrysler minivan tradition as an appealing people-mover.

What's New for the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica

The Chrysler Pacifica enters the 2027 model year with a fresh face featuring an illuminated wing badge that gives the minivan a more contemporary look. While interior design changes are minimal, new safety features include a blind-spot-view camera. The new entry-level LX trim replaces the previous Chrysler Voyager model while retaining the Voyager's styling. Unfortunately, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Pacifica is no longer available.

About the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Limited AWD Review Vehicle

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica comes in LX, Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trim levels, and base prices range from about $43,000 to around $58,000, including the destination charge for shipping the minivan from the Windsor, Ontario, assembly plant in Canada to a local dealership.

For this Pacifica review, I test-drove the Limited in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Optional equipment highlights included all-wheel drive (AWD), Olive Green Pearl paint, Safety Sphere technology, a Family Tech Group, and an S Appearance Package, bringing the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) to $57,165, including the $1,995 destination charge. Chrysler provided the vehicle for this Pacifica review.

Design, Quality, and Interior Layout

The most significant update to the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica is its new front styling, featuring sleek running lights, vertical projector LED headlights, and an illuminated Chrysler wing logo. Multiple new paint colors are available, including Olive Green, as seen on my test vehicle.

With its stylish dashboard design and well-integrated touchscreen display, the Pacifica's interior has a premium vibe. Contrasting stitching on the dashboard, center console, and doors adds a nice touch, and while there are some hard plastic surfaces, most touchpoints are cushy. The new Chrysler logo appears in the center of the steering wheel.

I like that Chrysler continues to keep the climate and most audio functions separate from the touchscreen. The climate controls include physical buttons and a knob, and are clear and easy to operate. They share space on the dashboard with the volume and tuning knobs, vehicle controls, and a rotating gear selector.

Comfort, Convenience, and Cargo Space

Like all minivans, the Chrysler Pacifica is made for running daily errands or taking cross-country drives with the whole family aboard, and a big part of its allure is the amount of space within the cabin. Chrysler minivans have always made good use of that space, and the 2027 Pacifica is no exception.

For example, there is a sizeable bin between the front seats featuring a retractable cover that lets you leave it open, while the large cupholders are within easy reach of the front seats. Larger items will probably fit just fine in the open space below the center console, and the cubby next to the wireless phone charger is ideal for smaller items.

Comfort is another hallmark of the 2027 Pacifica. The front seats in my Limited test vehicle offered multiple power adjustments, premium nappa leather, heating, and ventilation to ensure supportive and comfortable seating for the driver and front passenger.

Wide power-sliding doors provide easy access to the second-row captain's chairs. Plenty of legroom and headroom make these seats almost as nice as those up front, and the rear-seat climate controls and ceiling vents help keep everyone comfortable.

You can easily tilt those seats out of the way to create plenty of space to climb into the third row. Headroom and legroom are reasonable, although three passengers might feel cramped. Cupholders, storage cubbies, USB ports, and ceiling vents make being relegated to the third row more palatable.

The Pacifica carries cargo as well as it fits passengers, and even with all three rows upright, there's 32.3 cubic-feet of space. But Chrysler's claim to fame comes from its Stow 'n Go seating, a feature it's offered for more than 20 years. Both the second- and third-row seats easily stow below the floor, providing a large, flat cargo space. Folding the third row expands cargo capacity to 87.5 cu-ft, and with the second and third rows down, you can haul 140.5 cu-ft.

2027 Chrysler Pacifica Infotainment System Review

All Chrysler Pacificas come standard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display running the brand's intuitive Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Also standard are stylish analog gauges separated by a 7.0-inch driver information display.

The infotainment system includes:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
  • HD radio
  • Amazon Alexa compatibility
  • SiriusXM satellite radio and Pandora
  • Dual phone connectivity
  • Six-speaker audio system

Higher trims upgrade with:

  • 13-speaker Alpine audio system
  • 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system
  • GPS navigation
  • Chrysler Connect connected services

One of my favorite features of the Uconnect infotainment system is the easily configurable display. Selecting the edit icon on any home screen section lets you choose what appears there. Navigation, media, climate functions, or trip computer information can appear in any section, and you can create additional custom pages that you can access by swiping left or right.

However, if you prefer something more familiar, loading Android Auto or Apple CarPlay is simple. I connected my Samsung Galaxy S23+ and launched Android Auto without issue. Android Auto is easy to view on the display, while shortcuts to the native system remain visible for quick access.

There's an available FamCam, a feature that lets the driver view both rear rows on the central display screen to ensure everyone is behaving. Chrysler also offers the Theater Group option, which installs dual 10.1-inch seatback touchscreens with Amazon Fire TV, a video USB port, and a Blu-ray/DVD player.

Safety Features and Ratings

Chrysler equips the Pacifica with numerous advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as standard equipment. They include:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Forward-collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Lane-departure warning
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • Rear-seat reminder
  • Rear automatic braking

In addition to those features, my test car added:

  • Turn-signal-activated blind-spot view camera
  • Surround-view camera
  • Front and rear parking sensors

One of the highlights of the 2027 Pacifica is the newly available blind-spot view camera. When the driver uses the turn signal, a video feed showing what's next to the minivan appears in the center display, providing a clear view of your blind spot. While it isn't as convenient as the system in the Kia Carnival, which puts the image in the digital driver display, it still provides an added layer of safety when changing lanes on a busy road.

Chrysler doesn't offer a hands-free driving system on the Pacifica, but the adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability operated easily, delivering smooth acceleration and braking as needed to keep pace with traffic. It may not offer lane centering, but the system can still help to reduce fatigue on long road trips.

As of publication, neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had performed crash tests on the 2027 Pacifica.

2027 Chrysler Pacifica Specs and Fuel Economy

A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque powers the 2027 Pacifica, and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard across all trims, and all but the base-level LX are available with all-wheel drive (AWD).

Fuel economy is not this vehicle's strongest area. According to the EPA, the FWD versions get 22 mpg in combined city and highway driving, while AWD versions earn a rating of 20 mpg combined. That's considerably less than the 30 mpg combined and 82 MPGe achieved by the previous Pacifica PHEV.

During my time in the Pacifica AWD, which included stints on the highway and through the neighborhoods around Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, the Pacifica's trip computer indicated an average of 18.9 mpg.

2027 Chrysler Pacifica Test Drive

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica drives exactly as you might expect a minivan to drive, and I mean that as a compliment. While family transport is its primary purpose, the latest version of the Chrysler minivan is relatively quick, with its 287 horsepower making it one of the most powerful models in its class. The V6 delivers more than adequate oomph to reach highway speed or to quickly navigate a busy intersection safely.

Whether you're cruising on the interstate or driving through town, the Pacifica delivers a smooth, confident ride, making it comfortable for both daily driving and long road trips. Little road noise comes into the cabin, even at highway speeds or over less-than-smooth pavement. And any external sound is easily masked by the available 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

Surprisingly, the Pacifica handles reasonably well on a winding back road. There is considerable body lean and understeer if you push too hard, but the steering provides good feedback, and the AWD system adds traction when needed. Most drivers won't drive the Pacifica like a sports car, but it's nice to know it can hold its own when necessary.

Alternatives to the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica

Chrysler minivans have been part of the U.S. automotive landscape for more than 40 years, and even with strong competition from the Honda Odyssey, Kia Carnival, and Toyota Sienna, Chrysler still has the bestselling minivan in the country. While fresh styling gives it a modern look, the Chrysler Pacifica continues to boast spacious seating, a comfortable ride, and a range of family-friendly features.

All vehicle pricing includes MSRP plus destination charges (set at the time of publication) and will be rounded to the nearest thousand.
