The Subaru Legacy has been diligently ferrying families over slippery roads since 1989. For many of those years, it was the only mainstream mid-size sedan to offer all-wheel drive (AWD), let alone provide it as standard equipment. It has even served as Subaru's flagship car, boasting the latest technology and premium materials at an attainable price. Today, the current seventh-generation Legacy continues to fulfill these roles for Subaru. It is available with the company's tried-and-true four-cylinder boxer-type engine with or without turbocharging, and, of course, it also comes with standard AWD. However, it's no longer the only mid-size family sedan available with that feature.
