“In the end I have several fundamental issues with how my recent recall (2025 Ford Explorer ST) service and oil chance was managed. While I am thankful that Woodland Ford was active in reaching out to suggest that I bring my car in for the recall repair. In review I feel more like it was an attempt at an upsell.
When I dropped off my car for service I was told that inspection and repair would take just short of three hours. 3 or 4 hours later a call came that the car was indeed in need of the recall repair but no parts were available but since my car was in the service bay they could do an oil change.
It seems remarkable to me that they would call in my car with no chance of executing the recall repair. At least doing so without setting the proper expectation with me. Ultimately I would have waited until the part was in hand.
Now, the next issue, lack of detail orientated care. After leaving the dealership and reaching freeway speed a flapping sound was detected in the are of the right front of the car. Pulling off the freeway I noted that all 4 tires appeared proper installed (they were rotated) and inflated. Further inspection found that the engine undertray (?) was loose. Only one fastener was attached to the left front leaving the cover insecure in both the center and front right.
I called first thing in the morning and was told that all advisors were busy and I could a return call very shortly. No call was received and I had to call again 90 minutes later. I was told that they service center was busy but they if I could have my car to the service center by 1:30/2pm they could have look at it.
As requested I turned up and the car was taken into service. The service tech quickly noticed that fasteners were installed incorrectly in one case and missing in another. There was a suggestion initially that "this things happen often". When I pointed out that the car had it's oil changed the day before the Tech's expression changed and he simply apologized. I should mention he was the first to do so and seemed the most in tune with my frustration.
The tech did go above an beyond by not only replacing the missing fasteners but by also providing a video showing a full underbody inspection and leak check.
I'll close this by pointing out that the honest differentiator between businesses no matter the industry is customer service. Cliche perhaps but it's a fact. Any car owner can accept that recalls happen and we're happy to bring them in for proper repair. However to be greeted by employee's who largely seem unhappy to be there and distracted by their phones and wearing AirPods etc etc. Any car owner who brings a vehicle in repair should feel as though they are quite simply the fundamental focus of everyone they come in contact with. This was not the case.
As an example, my prior car was an Audi wagon, with its recall item Audi of Rocklin Offered to come and collect my car and leave a loaner. As it was I had business in Rocklin and decided instead to drive myself. Upon my arrival they were ready to receive the car, transfer me to my rental (paid for) in very short order. They set the expectation of when the car would be ready and beat that expectation by an hour.
It is very unlikely that I will return to Woodland Ford for service or sales barring some sort of obvious effort to bring their customer service to a higher level.
Sincerely, Daniel Kenber (2025 Ford Explorer ST)”

I would highly recommend her and this dealership. We never felt pressured, there were no hidden fees, and the entire process was quick and straightforward.”

“I had such an easy time trading in my car and purchasing a new one at Woodland Ford. If you want a service oriented, knowledgeable, friendly sales person ask for Sarah Osborne! She made the process transparent, non-stressful and comfortable. Mike in finance was also so personable and pleasant! I have never had such a good experience in the finance department. He made things quick, easy and got us the price we needed. He was no nonsense in the best way. I would buy another car from these two any day!”
