“CAR MAX sold me my 2018 Mercedes Benz a year ago without a SPARE TIRE! My husband and I drove to Lumberton NOT kNOWING and caught a FLAT on the way back! Because it was the weekend, they wanted to charge me thousands of dollars to send a tow truck! We ended up driving back home on the BLOWN OUT tire which completely ruined my rim! I contacted them which they said they were NOT at fault! I had to buy a NEW tire and RIM which could’ve been AVOIDED if they had informed me from the BEGINNING! If I had been informed I NEVER would’ve bought the car! NOT TO MENTION THEY CHARGED A WHOLE $2000 EXTRA TO SHIP THE CAR FROM CALIFORNIA TO WILMINGTON WITH A BAD CONVERTIBLE TOP WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED! WHO DOES THAT BUT A BUNCH OF CROOKS? MY ADVICE TO EVERYONE IN NEED OF BUYING A CAR, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY AND HARD EARNED MONEY WITH CAR MAX, THEY ARE NOT REPUTABLE! THEY DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU AS A PERSON! THEIR MAIN CONCERN IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!”

“Im at a complete loss of words as I try to begin to write this review. I will start off by saying I sold the Model 3, the car that started it all for me. She is now in the loving hands of CarMax. The day started off bad, wreck in Hampstead that caused a detour and it was raining. I've been in the Tesla Therapy Toaster for a few weeks so I was up higher than the Model 3 or my Model Y. I make it safely to CarMax and pull into a handicap spot out front. I had my daughter with me also, she snuck into the car so I brought her along for the ride. We walk in and I ask to use the restroom which was really nice btw. I wasn't planning on doing a review but here I am. I sit down and watch as others are offered water. I met Hector who was buying a mustang with his mom, I thought she was his wife. She looked young enough so I felt stupid when she said she was his mom... I told Hector he deserves a Shelby but the Mustang he picked looked really good. I then meet Leslie and she was amazing and so helpful. I sadly told her my entire life story and she was just trying to do her job, I asked if they needed help because I might get a job there if I can't go back to mine because I like how they operate. No commission based sales and all that. Very family friendly, I'm getting my 4 kids first cars at CarMax because of this visit. Thank you Leslie and the whole team. I hope Hector loves his Mustang and to that guy that stood up your Lyft driver, shame on you sir. She waited like 10min Also if you didn't know, they will give you a free Lyft up to like 30 miles or something. I was gonna walk 3 miles to Barnes and Noble but they gave me a Lyft for free and set it all up. Thanks again Leslie, your an amazing person and I'm glad I got to meet you. The water was really good, I'm 100% going to Costco now that you recommend it. My Lyft driver you set me up with also recommended Costco, so it's settled. Thanks to the whole CarMax family 5 stars”

“My wife and I decided to get a newer version of the Equinox that we had purchased years ago in Texas and were very satisfied with it. This is the 4th time we have used CarMax and glad we did! We use their website to evaluate what we were looking for and if they had it on lot. In this case they shipped for free from another location. We were greeted quickly when we showed up for our reservation and were assigned to Piper. She handled both our turn in transaction and the purchase along with our test drive! She was a professional with an upbeat attitude that made our purchase process seem less! The value we got and paid was very reasonable!”
