“I purchased a 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel from Platinum Auto in Waterbury and unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing. Within a week of purchasing the vehicle, I discovered several significant issues after having it inspected by a reputable dealer. These included a major leak from the rear differential vent hose, leaking oil pans, leaking front struts, and severely rusted tailgate bushings that made the tailgate inoperable. After speaking with Gino and the owner, I was assured that the issues would be taken care of. To their credit, the differential leak and oil pan leaks were repaired. However, after waiting nearly two weeks for their mechanic to address the remaining problems, I was informed that I would be responsible for paying for the front struts, labor, and tailgate repairs myself. What was most frustrating was being told that I should have discovered these issues before purchasing the vehicle. As a customer, I relied on the dealership to properly inspect and prepare the vehicle for sale. A leaking suspension system and an inoperable tailgate are not issues I would expect to find shortly after purchasing a vehicle from a dealer. Now, I am dealing with yet another oil leak near the manifold and have completely lost confidence in the vehicle. Based on my experience, I do not feel that the vehicle was thoroughly inspected before being sold, and I do not feel adequately supported after the sale. If you are shopping for a used vehicle, I would strongly recommend having any vehicle independently inspected before purchasing. Unfortunately, my experience with Platinum Auto has left me feeling stuck with a vehicle that has had multiple major issues almost immediately after purchase.”
