“I have had 2 experiences with Carmax, both very good. The first was purchasing a Dodge Ram 1500 in 2009. The truck was clean, almost like new. The vehicle served me well for 17 years. I recently sold the truck back to Carmax and received a very fair price. On both occasions they were fair and straight forward in there process. If your looking for a used vehicle this is your store.”

“I have bought 100 cars in my life. None have been this pleasurable. I was in and out in less than a hour. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything was smooth and as expected. There was no waiting. I will buy more cars here for sure!”

“This was the BEST car buying experience I have ever had, from finding the car to delivery. The process was absolutely painless. I chose my finance company and completed everything before setting foot in the dealership. I had an express appointment and was out of there papers signed, key in hand in 30 minutes. I don’t know why every dealer isn’t like this. No back and forth just wonderful customer service! I am bringing friends and family back here to buy even if it is two hours away because they are awesome!”

“I bought a 21 Ford Bronco sport from this location a few months ago. On the first day when I inspected the vehicle I called out cosmetic damage that wasn’t in the photos on the website as well as some other issues. The company agreed to repair it and put it in writing, being this was my 4th vehicle from carmax In general I trusted the process and bought it. They ended up repairing some of issues and made a “repair” with their main body work vendor. I’m attaching images to show how it looked prior, and then after the work, and ever further how the work degraded on the first rain we had. I called out the shoddy body work done by the vendor and the representative at the time told me that the vendor who did the repair was their main vendor for body work. I told them I didn’t want them touching the car again as the work was bad quality. The rep recommended I get quotes from a couple local body shops in the area. So I did, from Cesar’s collision and repair and from Velazquez customs. Both shops gave break down quotes of the work needed and both were close in cost to $1600-1700. I also spoke with Dentmasters and they said they couldn’t do the work as they do paintless dent repair and the vendor from carmax has ruined the paint. On Wednesday of last week k sent the two quotes into carmax only to be told today that the quotes are too high ( for the correct way to complete the repair ) from not one, but two shops in the area. They now magically have another vendor to use that’s cheaper as well. After wasting my time visiting 3 shops on my own time to fix an issue that should have been done right the first time. They are refusing to cover the cost at either of the body shops I got quotes from and are now telling me I have to either use another vendor of theirs, and if I don’t want to they will only give me $500 toward the repair. I bought 4 cars from carmax in the last 10 years, this just became my last. Over a $1700 repair they could have just done right the first time instead of trying to save a buck. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LOCATION, THEY ARE NOT HONORING REPAIR AGREEMENTS, or willing to fix their own mistakes the correct way in good faith. Update 3/8/26 So I was contacted today by the supervisor working on getting the repair done to my car. This is the recording of the call... You: Okay, so can you repeat that for me one more time? Participant: Yeah, that we will fix it um, if you will allow us to fix it, but we will be using our vendor. You: Right, And you did, you did reiterate to the general manager that I did use your guys' vendor once already that they did a bad job on it. And then I also went and did the 2 quotes that we had talked about. And that wasn't my idea, if you remember, right? That was your idea. So I did go out on my own to go get those 2 quotes Participant: I said, if you wanted to do that, and I said that I was going to talk to my team about other possible vendors You: Right. Participant: I spoke with the technicians, which I did, and if we had a different vendor, we would use our vendor 1st You: We did use your vendor You: And no, that is not what you said entirely Participant: That was my commitment You: You told me (gets cut off) Participant: Okay, sir, well, that's what we stand on. I have nothing else to say. I did it inform my location general manager and that's where we stand. You're more than welcome to come in Monday, I just wanted to make sure that I communicated that with you, You: Okay. You: can you tell me what the general manager's name is for the location? Participant: Yeah, I mentioned it to you the other day. It is Matthew secarian You: can you tell me who the supervisor was? I spoke with prior to you when I initially took the vehicle for the repair? Participant: Um, I believe it was Justine. You: what's was her last name? . Participant: Ever Diaz. - I have this phone call recorded and am going to submit it to corporate as you can hear when she gets irritated I'm simply asking about supervisors for reference. Horrible customer service.”

“The car buying experience was good. However, the customer service has been atrocious. Any time we have called the visalia location for some follow-up issues, no one knew what's going on. They made us make multiple trips back to the location to fix some issues and to do a vin verification which they forgot to do at the time of purchase (car was shippedto CA from out of state). They could only reserve it for us to two days even though we paid to have it shipped to visalia. We also called to make an appointment for them to clean up some adhesive that was stuck on the back armrest of the car (that has somehow evaded all the inspections) and upon dropping off the car, we were told it'd take about an hour. An hour later, we were told it'd be one more hour. Two hours later, they told us they need to drop it off somewhere and gave us no estimate of how long it'd take. We finally got the car back a few days later but the communication was absolutely terrible, I can't recommend this experience to anyone. They have also promised over the phone to top off the gas tank for when we pick up the car, needless to say that promise was NOT fulfilled. We had much better luck at carmax fresno a year prior with a different car purchase.”
