“When I arrived at Car Exchange in Virginia Beach, Virginia, I honestly thought my chances of driving off the lot were about 80/20 — and not in my favor. But this husband‑and‑wife team quickly changed that. They run their small used car dealership with honesty and professionalism, and from the moment I walked in, they made me feel welcomed and informed. They took the time to answer every question without any pressure. Their transparency and integrity truly set them apart. There were no unfulfilled promises, and they delivered exactly what they said they would. “This place scammed me big time! The salesman baited me from the Car Guru app. The car in question was a hybrid, and we were communicating through text message. I wanted to ensure that the hybrid battery was not bad before I drove all the way out there to look at the car. He assured me that the car fax stated that the hybrid battery was replaced at eighty nine thousand miles, and the car had a hundred thousand on it. He sent me a link to the car fax that I looked at and it did say, battery replaced at eighty nine thousand miles. I drove an hour to come up there and test drive the car and everything seemed fine. I went ahead with the sale and I was also told that the first payment had to be given to them in a money order.And that they would send it to the financial institution and to ignore the amount due for the first payment. The 5 minutes after I drove the car off of the lot. The integrated motor assist light came on, which is the light for the hybrid battery. I took it to the honda dealer, and they confirmed that the hybrid battery was going bad. Turns out that the battery that was replaced at eighty nine thousand miles was the twelve volt battery and not the hybrid battery. They knew very well that that was the case, and they misled me. They also overcharged me for the vehicle, even if the battery had been good, which is another issue entirely. So I had to pay five thousand dollars to replace the hybrid battery in this car that I just bought. On top of all of this, that first payment that I gave them in the form of a money order to send in to the financial institution has not arrived, and it is due today. So I have to pay two hundred fifty seven dollars today to the financial institution for a payment that I already gave them over a month ago for my first car payment. They insist that they sent it in, but it is not reflecting on my account. Do not go here, they are scammers and thieves.”
