“I brought my Hyundai to this dealership to sell in the hope of soon buying a new car. I was shocked by the poor quality of service. The salesperson was abrupt and rude, and the manager even more so. They did not follow the proper appraisal process, provided no paperwork, and were actively aggressive. I immediately brought my car to Shaker's Family Hyundai in Watertown and had an incredible experience - all protocols were followed, I was given excellent advice, and I sold my car, stress-free. I give a shout-out to Kyle there - an excellent salesperson. If you're looking to buy a new car, please take your business to Watertown. They really care about the quality of service, and it shows.”

“I will not be giving Torrington Hyundai another penny!!!!!
I went there on 1/23/25 for a service (covered under warranty) while I was waiting they informed me there was a mouse nest in the cabin air filter box. I was charged $449.82 which I thought was crazy for a mouse nest removal but I paid it anyways.
On 4/21/25 I brought my car there for a check engine light. They gave me a call and informed me I had another mouse nest in the same spot and it would be a little over $100 to take care of. Why would the price be that dramatically different than last time for the same exact job?? I told them to leave the nest and I would take care of it myself.
Fast Forward to today 11/07/25. My car was there for a service and a new plunger for my fuel door (all covered under warranty) Melissa in the service department called me informing me that they also needed to replace 3 filters and it would be $110 total. Then when I go to pick my car up it’s suddenly $244.50. When I politely asked why it was more expensive Melissa stomps over saying “that I was wrong and she never said it would be $110” I know I heard her clearly on the phone because I am cautious with them now after the mouse nest charge!!!! I NEVER write reviews but I am hoping to save someone else from getting up-charged and gaslit by them. The other 2 Employees I talked to were pleasant but Melissa has horrendous customer service!”

“Best car dealer experience I've ever had, and it was totally unexpected. The salesman, Mike, was extremely knowledgeable about the most tech-heavy car on the lot, the Palisade Hybrid. Also, both Mike and the sales manager were low-key and accommodating. This felt like a Lexus buying experience from a previous purchase and not at all what I experienced from two other Hyundai dealers. I highly recommend Torrington Hyundai, and I'm confident you won't be disappointed, especially if you ask for Mike.”

“Don't bother getting your car serviced by Torrington Hyundai. Their service managers lie, are rude, and cannot perform the most simple of tasks. I never leave reviews, and Torrington Hyundai is SO BAD that I felt compelled to do so. See story below:
0 stars wouldn't even do this dealership justice. Took our brand new Hyundai in for its first service. Waited 2 hours for an oil change, in which the technician didn't even reset the service light on the car. No big deal, right? They tried to charge us for the oil change, even though it is covered by the maintenance plan when you purchase a new car. Notified service **when making the appointment and when dropping off the car** that the car was pulling significantly to the right. This did not get addressed. When inquiring about why this wasn't addressed, John (the service manager) gaslighted my wife and told her that "we adjusted tire pressures so it should be fine". Needless to say, I had to make another appointment and bring he vehicle back in yet another day, because apparently John thinks tricking women is okay.
Brought the car back in, and I was notified that they would have to charge me for an alignment on this brand new car. Reluctantly accepted because the issue needed to be fixed, then they came back to me and stated 'actually we cant get it aligned, must be another issue, you'll need to bring it back for a different full day (again)'. I stated that I would need a loaner, and they guaranteed that they would have one on the date we scheduled. I called THE EVENING BEFORE to confirm the appointment and that there would be a loaner, and the service manager Melissa claimed that we were all set.
Fast forward to the next morning, 25 minutes into a 30 minute ride to the dealer my wife received a call that there was no loaner available. John claimed that loaners are 2-3 weeks out from appointments - that's how long I had to wait for this appointment. Obviously upset, my now irritated wife brought up the above, John suddenly claimed "Unless you buy your car from us we won't give you a loaner", then suddenly "oh I can't hear you" - and that was that.
I called right back and spoke with Melissa after being put on hold for 10 minutes. Her accommodating attitude had pulled a 180, and now claimed there was simply no loaner. She continued that Torrington Hyundai would not service our car, and we should bring our business elsewhere. I agreed, I do not want my car in the incompetent hands of Torrington Hyundai.”

“Although I was initially uncertain after my first interaction, my overall experience with Torrington Hyundai exceeded expectations. Steve and Gary ensured a smooth and efficient purchase process and went above and beyond by assisting with the BlueLink app setup. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction made the entire experience exceptional.”
