“Revised Google Review
All buyers, please carefully review your paperwork and ask detailed questions before purchasing from Direct Auto Exchange in Tallahassee.
On April 23, my elderly uncle and aunt purchased a 2019 Buick Encore. Within the first month, by May 20, the vehicle was facing nearly $5,000 in repair-related concerns. The vehicle did not perform as expected shortly after purchase.
Two older Honda Pilots, both well maintained and with titles in hand, were traded in as part of this transaction.
During follow-up conversations, the dealership owner stated that he was aware the vehicle had concerns but indicated that it was what my uncle specifically requested and he did not want to interfere with that decision. That statement raised serious concerns for our family. If a seller believes a vehicle is not reliable, that information should be clearly disclosed and documented before a sale is finalized.
When problems surfaced, multiple calls were made seeking assistance. Those calls were not returned. The only substantial response came in a public reply to an online review rather than through direct communication.
We were told the situation would be “made right.” The proposed solution involved entering into another vehicle purchase at a significantly higher overall cost rather than reversing or restructuring the original transaction. That was not an acceptable resolution.
If you are purchasing here, especially during tax season or if you are navigating credit challenges:
• Review the total out-the-door price
• Confirm warranty coverage in writing
• Understand the full financial obligation
• Seek outside financing comparison before signing
• Document every conversation

All buyers beware. Do not be fooled by celebrities or “reputable” people in commercials, those endorsements are paid. They do not reflect how this dealership treats everyday customers.
I had to advocate for my elderly uncle and aunt, who purchased a car in good faith on April 23rd. Less than a month later, by May 20, the 2019 Buick Encore they bought, without an extended warranty, would have left them nearly $5,000 in the hole. The car was clearly not reliable, and the issues were obvious.
They traded in two older model Honda Pilots in excellent condition titles for both in hand, with no pre-existing problems, yet the dealer dismissed them, saying, “You traded in two older model Honda Pilots.” Let me be clear: there is no comparison. The Pilots were well-maintained, reliable, and valuable. The Buick was a piece of junk.
His slogan, “Your quality pre-owned dealer,” is a joke. Quality is nowhere to be found. This dealership is in business for himself, not for the everyday customer. Fast-talking, smiling, but ultimately a scam if you’re not careful.
Do not buy a car here without an extended warranty. Better yet, drive right past this place. You have been warned.
I will also be reporting this lemon sale to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Finance for record and action.
The time spent writing that public response is the same time the dealership could have used to return one of the many calls my family made. We reached out several times and never received a single follow-up. That lack of contact is exactly why I shared my experience here.
What stands out most is that there has still been no apology and no real attempt to help my family secure a reliable replacement vehicle. No one reached out to discuss options, offer support, or even acknowledge the ongoing issues. Instead, a public message was posted that avoids the concerns we actually raised.
This only confirms what we experienced ourselves. There was no follow-through, no accountability, and no willingness to communicate directly with the people affected. My family placed their trust in this dealership and did not receive the level of integrity or care that customers deserve.
Everything is documented, and the proper individuals have been notified. We will move forward.”
