“I had an extremely disappointing experience with this dealership. Before making the hour-long drive, I specifically called and asked for the out-the-door (OTD) price because I didn’t want to waste my time. The salesperson asked where I lived so he could calculate the taxes, registration, and other fees, then gave me what I understood to be the OTD price over the phone. Based on that information, I drove an hour to the dealership. After inspecting the car and sitting down to sign the paperwork, the salesperson suddenly said, “Oh, I didn’t even add the fees and registration to the price yet.” When I reminded him that I had specifically called for the OTD price before making the trip, he then claimed, “How would I be able to give you the full OTD price when I don’t even know where you live?” The problem is that he did ask me where I lived during our phone conversation specifically so he could calculate those costs. An out-the-door price is supposed to include taxes, registration, and applicable fees. If you can’t provide an accurate OTD price, be upfront about it. Don’t tell a customer one price, have them drive an hour based on that information, and then increase the price once they’re sitting in your office. This experience was a complete waste of my time and left me feeling misled. Transparency and honesty should be the bare minimum when buying a vehicle. I would strongly encourage everyone to stay away from this dealership. If this is how they treat customers before the sale is even complete, I would have serious concerns about how they handle business afterward. Save yourself the frustration and take your business to a dealership that values honesty, transparency, and its customers’ time.”
