I was switching cars excited to (FINALLY have my car back) take my daughter for her event tonight. LUCKILY, I NOTICED MY STEERING COLUMN WAS NOT TIGHTENED PROPERLY.
I HOPE NOTHING ESLE IS LOOSE AND MY A/C WORKS!?!?
The Job: 1. Heater core replacement, 2. crankshaft pulley replacement, 3. transmission fluid and filter (other things were added to the work order that either were not completed).
September 30th: Dropped off vehicle and requested work to be completed by master mechanic (I have been a tech and in the "car" business for over 20 years) due to age of vehicle, extent of work requested, and the knowledge of being in this industry for so long. Made it clear that I needed my vehicle back by October 16th. I would fix the car myself if it would take that longer than October 16th... I was told that it was expected to be completed by October 10th. I called October 11th (Saturday) not knowing they closed at 12 on Saturday (everyone was gone in service). Monday October 13th, I called to see how things were going and ask if it would be ready by Wednesday (15th). Was told that it would be ready by Wednesday. Called again Wednesday (15th) and was told it would be ready Friday (17th). At this point I had to procure another vehicle for my towing needs. I told them it is what it is, and I would figure something out (needed the car back for towing) ... Friday October 17th-Monday October 13th NO CALLS FROM THEM... EVER. I call Tuesday October 21st and spoke the service advisor I was working with and said (more or less), "I have been told my car will be ready different dates a few times, it's coming up on a month, this job should not have taken more than a few days; week max (after parts arrived. Even after parts arrived was told the goal was by the 10th). Please talk with whoever you need to talk with and call me back today with an honest answer as to why it has taken this long." I was told I would get a call back THAT AFTERNOON (21st) ... NO CALL... I showed up at Marburger Chevrolet on October 23rd and spoke with the General Manager (GM)... We went to service to find out what was going on. After the GM and Service Manager went to discuss the situation with the tech; I was told that I have to understand that it is an older vehicle (2005 Suburban) it would take longer. I was candid with the GM saying, "please stop, i.e., beating around the bush... is it about making better money elsewhere? what is it?" Again, met with the same explanation of... i.e. I have to understand the vehicle is old etc... Then it was said that the tech is working out of 5 bays. The GM had a used car in one as well. Then there were no more explanations. I left hastily with the GM promising a call back later that day because the tech was not there at the moment to talk to. I later received a call from the GM stating that the tech would be working on nothing else until the job was finished. I replied, "okay thanks (name)". Next day (today October 24th) I received a call from the service writer that the vehicle was ready. I Hear something from the steering. Scared to take it back; I looked myself. PART OF THE STEERING COLUMN WAS NOT TIGHTENED/TORQUED PROPERLY. Video won't load but pictures do. More on this as well...”

“I love this dealership! All of the service techs are knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. Their repair prices are very reasonable and they will go over everything with you before starting to work on your vehicle. I've taken both my Chevy van and my Ford pickup to them several times. I've been extremely happy with the outcome every time.”

“I saw the ad about the sale on Facebook. I started not to go because my credit score was low. But I prayed about it and drove to Shelby from Charlotte. Once I arrived, I was greeted by a sales person immediately, who interduced me to James. He took his time , even though my credit wasn't great, and made me feel as though I was his #1 priority. He worked thru my credit and got me approved for the type vehicle I needed and with a payment that I was comfortable with. I would highly recommend going to see James. He's the BEST 👌”
