“I was very specific with my stipulations, they agreed after running my credit and looking at all details. This wasn’t a necessary purchase for me so I was not desperate to buy. Even told them, if this is not the case when I walk in then you’re wasting your time. Drive an hour, get there & the manager George comes out attempting to strong arm me with the complete opposite of what was discussed already. Sits in front of me and tells multiple lies and trying to gaslight me. As i’m gathering my things to leave, I tell him “y'all should try honesty and transparency, I promise you would sell more cars using that.” He mumbles that I should try something not sure exactly what, I turn around and say excuse me I should try what? & he just stares at me. I say it again, more firmly. That’s when he tells me I should leave & shews me with his hand. Which gladly sir! I was not rude or mean until he mumbled something about me under his breathe to I’m assuming his wife as they shared the same last name. I get it, it’s business… but you don’t have to lie to peoples face to sell something that everyone needs. There are some salesmen there that I know are honest and kind. George needs to be brought back a notch or two and taught manners and respect.”

“I had an extremely disappointing experience with Don Franklin Somerset Kia and would not recommend them to anyone. Before making the trip to the dealership, I spent a considerable amount of time texting with someone named Maddy. I was completely upfront about my situation from the beginning. I explained that my credit was less than perfect, that I did not have a down payment, and that I would need to arrange transportation because I do not currently have a vehicle and the dealership is located in another county. Because of that, I specifically asked multiple times whether a down payment would be required and whether my credit situation would be an issue. Each time, I was assured that everything would be fine and that I would not need a down payment. Those assurances were the only reason I agreed to make the trip. When I arrived, I was told that Maddy did not actually work at the dealership but that the salesperson would have all of my information. We sat down and discussed my situation, and he initially told me that with my income everything should be fine. However, after pulling my credit, he returned and informed me that I would need either a co-signer or a down payment. I explained how frustrated I was because I had specifically discussed those exact concerns with Maddy before coming. Despite that, the conversation quickly shifted to trying to convince me to find a co-signer. I repeatedly explained that I did not have anyone who could co-sign for me. Eventually, I was told there was nothing that could be done. As I was leaving, the salesperson followed me outside and said that the people who answer the text messages are only right about 50% of the time. That statement alone raises serious concerns. Why would any dealership allow representatives to provide information that is only accurate half the time, especially when customers are making important financial decisions and traveling significant distances based on that information? To be clear, I am not upset because I was unable to get approved. I understand that my credit history presents challenges, and I take full responsibility for that. What upsets me is being repeatedly told that I would not need a down payment or have issues, only to arrive and hear the exact opposite. If I had been given honest information from the beginning, I would have saved my time, the salesperson's time, and my sister's time since she drove me there. In my opinion, this felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic designed to get me through the door so I could be pressured into finding a co-signer or coming up with a down payment. After being misled multiple times, there is no reason I would ever return.”
