ā€œUpdate: Mr Rice paid for one of the headlights and had that one installed even tho it was as is this was a whole lot of things wrong with this car with one of his inspection sticker on it with everything check as inspected! I’m sharing my experience to warn anyone considering buying a vehicle from David Rice Motors in Schoolcraft, Michigan.I bought a Camaro from them, and the problems started the very same day. I had to drop it off at the mechanic immediately. I found out the starter was going out, the battery was bad, and after filling the tank, I lost a quarter of a tank of gas just sitting in the mechanic’s parking lot — which turned out to be a fuel pump leak. The dealership did pay for those repairs, but the car was gone for a week. When I finally got it back, the check engine light came on again — another $200 sensor. After that, I discovered the headlights didn’t work properly. They lit up, but the light only reached about three feet in front of the car, making night driving unsafe. When I told the dealership, they said they had ā€œput enough money into this carā€ and only paid for half of the headlight repair. On top of that, they told me they were giving me $1,000 off the price, but when I checked the paperwork, they had actually charged me $1,000 over the price.I also kept hearing a rattling noise on startup. I finally caught it on video and took it to my mechanic — he confirmed it’s the timing chain, which is an expensive repair. When I brought this concern to the Mr Rice he told me maybe I ā€œneed a new mechanicā€ and said it wasn’t covered. So I took it to the Chevy dealership and they also confirmed it’s the timing chain and quoted me at $6,200 and I asked Mr Rice again is he going to help with this situation no response then I asked if he will take the car back and still no response. All of this happened before I even made my first car payment. Not to mention they had it fully inspected with sticker still on the window, I think some things got overlooked. I’m writing this review so other people don’t end up in the same situation. Be extremely careful buying from this dealership. Get your own inspection 2 or 3 different opinions for the things they hide, double‑check the paperwork, and don’t rely on their word. I wish I had known what I was walking into.#feelingstuckwithonevehiclešŸ˜ž So: Starter Battery Fuel pump $200 sensor $600 headlights Rear breaks and rotors And a timing chain all in less then 30 days oh annnd not to mention the sway linksā€

ā€œWe had an amazing experience at David Rice! Evan was our salesperson, and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We were specifically looking for a Toyota Sienna with low mileage, which is not an easy vehicle to find. Not only did they find us one with under 60,000 miles, but it’s in incredible condition. The entire team was friendly, helpful, and great to work with throughout the whole process. They made everything easy and truly went above and beyond to help us find exactly what we were looking for. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase and highly recommend David Rice to anyone looking for a quality vehicle and outstanding customer service!.ā€

ā€œUpdate: customer service is great till you buy a car. The car was previously in a disclosed minor accident on the right side with no obvious remaining damage at the time of purchase. Few weeks go by and with the first heavy Michigan rain also comes a very foggy headlight accompanied by lots of codes and the leds going in and out. After calling just to see if they’re willing to do something, I was told to get it checked by a mechanic (I live 2.5 hours away and didn’t want to drive) and let them know, which I did. They later came to say they wouldn’t cover anything, not surprised, as it would usually fall under electrical. I wish they just told me no without having to take it to a mechanic, as I can easily swap out a headlight myself and avoid spending money on a diagnosis. The car also came with no AC due to a broken temp sensor. All maintenance was due, including tires all around. This is your typical B lot, you get what you pay for, they just put on a friendlier facade. HIGHLY recommend taking the car to a trusted mechanic before signing any paperwork. The only reason I considered this place was because they happened to have the exact car and spec i was on the market for. Amazing customer service, I inquired about a Porsche and bought it the next day, all the paperwork was done under 30 minutes. Their cars come with a 3 month/3k miles limited warranty covering major repairs.ā€
