Safety Hazard & Zero Customer Support after selling a faulty car I purchased a 3-year-old Kia from Capitol Kia on December 4, 2025, trusting their 'multi-point inspection' process. Less than 1,000 miles later, the car died in the middle of a busy road due to a complete battery failure. O’Reilly Auto Parts confirmed the battery had 'bad reserve capacity.' This was a terrifying safety hazard for me and my family. What is more disappointing is the lack of accountability. I have tried calling multiple times to speak with the Sales Manager, but they constantly make excuses and avoid the conversation. It is clear that their 'inspection' was either not done or done poorly. I am sharing this to warn the San Jose community: do not trust their inspection reports. I am still waiting for the General Manager to contact me to resolve this. I expect a full refund for the battery replacement I had to pay for out of pocket and a formal explanation. I will be reporting this to Kia America and the BBB if I do not hear back.

Ahhh… unfortunately this is not a post I wanted to write. We came to Capitol Kia to potentially lease a new Kia Carnival as our family has grown. We previously leased a Kia EV9 from them and had a great experience, which is exactly why we decided to come back. Michael, the sales manager, gave us an offer on a Kia Carnival that met exactly what we were looking for. At the time, we couldn’t move forward because our current lease still had two payments left, and they said they could only cover one of them. That was fair, so we waited. Fast forward to now—we’re down to one payment left. When I reached back out, we were told that the price we negotiated was only for a “special” on one specific vehicle. This was never mentioned during our original conversations. We were under the clear impression that the deal applied to the model we wanted in general. The new price they came back with was outrageously higher. It’s disappointing because we genuinely wanted to repeat the same great experience we had before. But when a deal is discussed and agreed upon, it should be honored. Going back on your word leaves a bad taste, especially for returning customers.

Drove up from Los Angeles on a Sunday morning to secure the deal. Upon arrival, the vehicle was already washed and ready to be taken home. Super friendly staff. Juan Gomez assisted us throughout the whole process and the store manager Alex (who was just as friendly and helpful) made the experience so much easier. Would def recommend these guys. Thanks Capital Kia San Jose!

Capitol Kia has done it again. It’s my second purchase with them and just like before, I had a wonderful experience. Bryan provided a ten out of ten experience and top tier follow through. He was very accommodating, knowledgeable and thorough. The entire team, including Andrew were so helpful and put me at ease during the entire process. I felt like I was a great hands. Wonderful job, Capitol Kia. I love my new ‘26 Sportage Hybrid! Thanks again!

I had a great experience leasing my first car at Capitol Kia. Enrique was an amazing product specialist —patient, clear, and understanding, answering all my questions perfectly. The finance team was very helpful and made the leasing process straightforward. While the process took a bit longer due to how busy the dealership is, I was very happy with the overall experience and after-sales service. Huge thanks to Enrique for being so easy to work with and making this my first car lease a positive one! I would recommend Enrique to anyone looking to purchase a car at this dealership!
