“I am a car guy who maintains my vehicles well and used to do cars sales at two different car dealerships (Subaru and Infiniti). I normally avoid stealerships for service because 1. its' the most expensive option and 2. the advisors, like floor sales, make a portion of their salary on gross service sales. Which in turn leads to additional recommended services that may maybe legit request or it may be for fictional reasons. This is why I go to my network of independent car mechanics. Their service is cheaper and many times it's the owner that is the SA so he is not commission driven (don't get me wrong, the indys have their share of unscruplous shops as well). The only thing I do at the dealerships are recalls. Well I had to go in for a recall and was due for an Oil Change and some other maintenance items I planned to do with my indy shop. Andrea was my SA and I told her I would do recall and get the oil change since I had a coupon. I also mentioned the other transmission related service items I needed but was going to do those elsewhere. Well she did some tap tap tapping and click click clicking on her keyboard, pressed the "-" button a few times and then spoke to Cliff, the manager and presented me with an estimate I could not refuse (it beat my indy guy's estimate). I agreed but in the back of my mind I was waiting for "the catch." Were they going to call me mid service to "discover" another alleged issue or that my brake pads were thin? NOPE. She said they did a multipoint inspection and the truck had a clean bill of health and sent me on my way. This was 3 years ago and I have been back several times since. The other thing I noticed, Andrea, Cliff, and another SA Chris (who has helped me when Andrea was off) are all still there. Speaking from experience, a dealership with low turnover means they have solid management and good internal vibes that transfer to us customers. Even though I live in the city of San Francisco, I bring my Tacoma and Land Cruiser here and refer to Victory as the Spa, not the stealership. They are close to a walkable downtown and the Caltrain which makes their location convenient too. I don't normally take time to write positive reviews, but this one was overdue.”
