“I purchased a car 2 years ago and reviewed CarMax. I initially gave them a great review but then changed it to not so great because I found out that it had been in an accident (therefore my local dealer had no interest in buying it). That info was not on the CarMax web site so I was not happy. For this reason I highly recommend getting an official CarFax report on any car you consider buying. They did however, within the 90 day warranty period replace the battery that died AND the airbag because the light kept going on. This was quite expensive. Two years later, I just traded it back in because CarMax gave me the BEST trade in value of every company I inquired with. The car I traded it in for also needed repairs. I discovered there was a problem with the passenger side speaker and the wheels/rims are bent so the car vibrates at high speeds. Once again 90 day warranty, no hassle at all, CarMax is paying for everything. $260 for the speaker and $900 for the new tires. Their 90 day warranty is no joke. Pretty much everything is covered. When buying a used car there is nothing better than knowing you have such a great 90 day warranty. It's all covered. Just make sure you inspect the car very thoroughly and have a mechanic look at it within that 90 days. I opted not to get the extended warranty so really can't speak to that. But I'm extremely satisfied with my two purchases thus far. I also want to add, that since I live an hour and 45 minutes away, CarMax let me get the car repaired locally so I wouldn't have to drive back to Rochester. They are very accommodating about that & even paid my mechanic directly. So getting any repairs done is truly hassle free. Photo of the new car. :)”
