“Be careful here. I wanted a car that I could drive away without giving too much thought to repairs. For a 12 year old Xterra, I figured $11.2k would be a reasonable amount for that expectation. My salesman was Jay. Was treated as if I didn’t know what I was talking about or as if I knew nothing about vehicles. Trying to get photos of the underside of the car, let alone the Carfax, was like pulling teeth. Got called “one of those guys” for checking for leaks (which there were), fluids (which were concerning), & suspension (clunks in front and rear over every bump) and bringing up my concerns in price negotiations. Was told the brakes were done, turns out it was just a pad slap. They still squeaked though! Could not offer any paperwork for the inspections they said were performed. I was incessantly told about how they sometimes lose money on used cars… I’m aware of this. No need to bring it up during negotiation. Also no need to bring up your commission checks and how they are “pathetic” while talking about pricing. Before I left, I told them I’d be more comfortable with the price if I was able to take it to a third-party inspection- I was simply told “no” and that “we’re done here”. Which I respected and left.”
