“I bought a car on February 23rd. We got it home but the next day the engine light came on. I let carmax know and they transfered me to the service department where we were laughed at for the issue. Then yesterday was the appt to fix the issue. We were told it would be a 4 hour appt. No big deal. We'll the woman at the desk right by the door decided to tell us a minute before 5pm that they need another part and my cars all apart so I can't drive it home. They were gonna get us a rental and had to confirm my insurance. This female gets on the phone for 45 minutes just to tell us liability isn't enough to get the car. It says on the proof of insurance e that it was liability. She could have said if it was liability we can save the phone call cause I can't get the rental. I start getting irritated and all they did was roll their eyes and act like I sold them a lemon when they sold the broken car to us. No apologies just excused. Ed in the front is extremely disrespectful and ignorant to think its okay to roll your eyes and say its not your problem when someone gets screwed over by a company you represent. The man Oscar got me locked in with lyfts to work and home until the cars fixed but tried to tell me i cant be aggravated when most of the staff are rude and disrespecful. I shouldn't be there a week after buying this vehicle, to get it fixed. I deserve an apology for their screw up and disrespect. I wasn't even rude. I went to Ed about the rudeness from the service desk female, first. We were getting eye rolles the whole 4 hours me and my 2 kids were there from her. Then I was explaining the car issue to see what my options are. He said her attitude wasn't his problem and I just "think" she's looking at us crazy; and her wasting our time, telling us at the very last minute before closing that my car was stuck there, was just an "oh well". Then they had oscar come out to tell us to go in an office to quiet us cause I started telling people don't get a car there. It looks like from reviews, this place has turned into trash and they buy anything to resell. Once its sold they treat you like crap. Or maybe its just certain people. I don't look "professional" enough to respect.”

“The experience was great start to finish. All the associates I dealt with with happy and enthusiastic. Everything went well. However, the bank has put a hold on your check,( Bank Draft) and won't release the funds. They, (The Bank) has stated they don't believe the check will clear. It's been five days. I'm still waiting.”

“"I am a repeat CarMax customer who had an amazing experience at this location when I bought my first vehicle from them a few years ago, but this recent experience has been frustrating to say the least. I bought a truck on Oct 28. Within 4 days, I noticed severe shaking at highway speeds—a major safety concern. I reported it immediately, but was told I couldn’t be seen until 16 days after purchase, which conveniently pushed me past the 10-day return window.
The mechanic diagnosed a potential fault with the custom rims that came on the truck but wasn't 100% sure. Their plan was to 'try' a repair first, and if that failed, then 'maybe' order Toyota rims. The earliest they could see me for this was today, Jan 8.
I left my shift at the Tesla Gigafactory at 7:15 AM. Because of the 24°F weather and roads that were a total sheet of ice (see photo), an normally short drive took over an hour and 20 minutes. I pulled into the lot at 8:36 AM, and at that exact minute, I received a call saying my 8:30 appointment was canceled.
Despite the hazardous conditions, which the staff admitted were ‘really bad,’ they refused to honor the appointment because I didn’t ‘check in 15 minutes early.’ While driving on ice, my priority was safety, not a phone call.
I am now on Day 72 of my 90-day warranty. With their 'guess-and-check' repair plan, it is clear they are stalling to push me past my coverage. I shouldn't have to risk my safety for a 6-minute grace period on a truck they sold me with a pre-existing defect.
I am happy to update this review once CarMax actually fixes my vehicle properly, but until then, this stands as a warning."”

“I use to sell cars at a Toyota Dealership, therefore I didn’t like the experience of buying cars. I wasn’t pushy but most salespeople are. I was very skeptical of CarMax due to the size and volume of their dealership. I wasn’t pushy at all and I wanted to experience the soft sale approach. I bought a cars sight unseen except for the photos and description at the CarMax in Tennessee. I paid $19,990 to have it transferred to Nevada long story short. The cars was exactly what I wanted and we bought it after a short test drive around town. It was the best buying experience ever. Highly recommend Car Max”
